No More Wires Running Everywhere!
If you're tired of dash cam cables snaking across your interior, this is the perfect solution. Designed to free up your cigarette lighter socket. Integrated dual-mode switch: • ACC Mode: Powers off 5 minutes after your car’s ACC is turned off. • Surveillance Mode: Keeps running until it detects low battery voltage (11.6V), protecting your car’s battery. It draws power solely from the OBD interface, so there’s no interference with other OBD data communication. Easy install, smart features, and no clutter—this cable makes powering your dash cam a breeze.

Works As Described With One Exception
Instead of shutting off after five minutes, it actually shuts off after about twenty minutes. That's not an issue, just noting the difference. I assume this device is measuring battery voltage to determine when the car is off or running. Charging voltage on a car battery is around 13.5 to 14v (when engine is running). When the car is turned off, the battery is no longer being charged and voltage is just the battery alone @ 12V. I think that's how it works.

1.5 years and still going strong
Year and a half later of many many hours of use on my work truck and still works. Love it and the price...

It works.
It works for now. I've only been using it for a few days now but it does work. I'll update this review in a month if it's still working or less if it isn't.

Solved - random auto shut-off on highway
I'm very pleased with this product and I'm writing a review in case anyone has the same issue. (I drive a 2014 Honda Accord.) I leave this product set in the position that turns off after 5 minutes when the car is off (not the always-on position). I started noticing that my dash cam would randomly turn off on long car rides on the highway. I thought this power cable was faulty and I could get the camera to turn back on by flipping the rocker switch to always-on and back again. But after some more time in the car, I was able to isolate the problem better. When my car is running at a constant highway speed on cruise control for a long time, the OBD voltage drops and the camera turns off. All I have to do is slow down my cruising speed by about 5 mph, and then the dash cam will come right back on - then I can resume my original speed. This might be a function of the OBD protocol at constant speeds, or it may be a gas-saving feature of the car - reducing alternator load (and voltage output) when it's not required. Luckily my dash cam makes an audible tone when turning off, so I know when to adjust my speed and turn it back on. I never seem to have this issue during city driving.

Turns power off after several minutes in even when car is running
Simple device with a fairly simple job: send power to my dashcam when the ACC is on. Unfortunately it doesn't do what it says. The device cuts power to the dashcam after five minutes, even when the car is running. You have to use the always-on mode, and then deal with the well-reported issues of running your battery down if you forget to turn it off. Will have to return it :( UPDATE: It turns off in ACC mode after several minutes; how long it lasts before shutting down varies every time. UPDATE 2: Ordered another to see if the first was a dud. The product itself is a dud. Same issue w/ power shutting off after random amounts of time. Used on a 2015 Chevy Malibu. Saw another similar product (looks identical, actually) w/ a note buried deep in the description that said something like 'based on customer feedback this product doesn't appear to work with many GM and Toyota vehicles'. If they know that to be true, that information should be much more accessible.

Good Product
I have installed these in three of my vehicles and they all work with no issues. Just make sure you order the correct USB connection.

Works great for my needs
This product is working great for my needs. I just needed my dash cam to run while my vehicle is on otherwise the camera will drain my battery. It was easy to install and has been working great for me specific needs. I would say this is much easier than other options out there or trusting a dash cam to shut off on its own.
