Actually Sucks Great
it's easy to use, easy to empty, and sucks the way a vacuum should. We have a lot of pets and this effectively cleans up the hair. It is quite impressive. We love ours so much that we bought a second one for my son that is preparing to get his own place. My cousin bought a different kind and was disappointed. He got this one and is happy because it does what it should. Try it! I am happy with ours!

Good ol HOOVER!
We already own a Dyson V15 detect, BUT we have always had a second vacuum for quick fast clean ups. We had the prior model...now I can't think of the name...but after many years it died and is no longer made. I grew up with HOOVER vacuums so for me it's almost a sentimental thing too :) This vacuum works GREAT overall. I had seen many reviews even videos where the brush would stop if you end up going over different length carpet?.. We have had zero issues with the brush stopping be it over plush, short...or even a nice wool area rug. Brush has zero issues, and it does NOT collect hair! I wanted this Hoover mostly because it was one of the few vacuums where you can just use the suction, and turn the brush OFF over say...wood flooring. In the end...We ended up not using that feature as the brush doesn't scratch OUR wood or vinyl floors....just use the brush on low to medium power. Two things I am not thrilled about. One is the head is not really suitable for stairs. It seems connected only by plastic tubing. I did see reviews where that tubing ripped...and I would imagine if you constantly pick up this vacuum and let the heavy head part just be suspended by the plastic tubing, over tome that COULD be a weak point. Second gripe is the battery. It is NOT bad...but for such a a large looking kinda heavy battery, battery life is not GREAT but it is pretty good. We like the machine has lights as you vacuum, like that it can stand up without leaning it or using some sort of mount like the Dyson. Overall it's a very NICE vacuum...esp if maybe just suing it more for quicker clean-ups or you don't have OCD and need every millimeter cleaned. The Dyson V15 is perhaps in a diff class, but it's also very heavy and a bit of a pain to use, and twice the price.....so GO Hoover!

Hello China. Goodbye Trustable American Brand.
Opened it, gave it a short test which is all it took to pack it up and send it back. As always, Amazon is standing behind its sale in stellar fashion and I continue to appreciate that 100% but I can't recommend Hoover anything anymore, and particularly this "New and Improved" (NOT) cordless vacuum model. I had 2 of its predecessor Linx models which I loved but they didn't last. This new model is inferior in every way. Here are its problems right out of the box: First, its design. As numerous other reviews point out, the on-off controls are right where your grasp of the handle has to be so that even being aware of it, you still can't help but turn it off unintentionally and repeatedly. Second, this model is less maneuverable than its predecessor Linx and also heavier so that it is cumbersome. Thirdly, its head design is such that it cannot pick up dust or debris (like crumbs) within 1-2 inches of a baseboard or threshold between rooms, whether butting the head up to the baseboard frontwise OR running the head along the baseboard sideways. So in effect, after vacuuming a room, you would have to follow up on all the edges of the room (or anything else you are vacuuming around such as table legs or threshold) with a broom or handheld dustbuster. This is NOT an improved model. Next, at least the one I received, not only did NOT have 50% more suction power than it's predecessor, but not as much. Or maybe I should say "effective" suction power. Again, that could be a matter of the head design. Aside from that, in rereading reviews, I lost confidence that this machine would be at all reliable. Too many of those reviews report that the machine dies within a couple of months. And that leads me to Hoover Customer Service anymore. I have tried to reach them on their Customer Support phone line numerous times, weekdays, various times of the day, and same as others have reported, I always get their same recording that states customer service hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST daily. But then it goes on to state, "We are currently closed." And it's that way every time you call, no matter when. That same rereading of reviews (search term "chat") reveals that their chat feature is also completely useless because it offers only canned multiple choice answers to whatever problem you identify. That indicates pre-recorded artificial intelligence bots, no humans there either. Now a number of those reviews seem to have somehow contacted someone (or it may be another prerecorded bot), but apparently if you have a defective part, even if it arrived Dead on Arrival out of the box, you must pay the shipping to send it back and get a replacement part that works. This seems to be often either the battery or its charger, because more than one review reported that the wrong charger for the battery was packed in the box. And all of this while their website cheerfully touts it's outstanding customer service? Where??? Very sad to see a formerly trustable American standby company ring its own death knells this way, but all the signs are there. And that's after persisting to invest benefit of doubt because I loved their last model, as long as it lasted each time anyway. I had actually built into this purchase the possible expectation of it only a couple of years at the most, but between the inept redesign of this model on three counts and the infuriating customer service realities, there comes a limit. So my recommendation is "buy at your own risk" which appears to be quite high or that the particular machine I got was missing side brushes on the head and that there was something wrong with its motor's suction power. That would just leave its handle design and non-existent customer service to bet on. If you look at my other reviews, you will see that they are detailed as to features not obvious from the listing descriptions but meaningful to other prospective buyers and for the most part quite positive. I have no axe to grind against Hoover other than what they have earned from a long time customer who's given every benefit of the doubt only to become very disappointed in them.

I have owned a Dyson "corded" vacuum, and it was quite good, but I have to say that this particular "cordless" Hoover vacuum is the best purchase I have ever made. It comes with two batteries, and it takes quite a while to exhaust one battery. I rarely write reviews, and would likely not have written this one without an email request to rate product. This vacuum is worth every penny. It goes from carpeting to hard wood floors in an instant Other amazing features are that it is not noisy, it is extremely easy to detach and empty the bin & there is an indicator that lets you know status of the battery. I absolutely love this vacuum and highly recommend it. Bonnie

I've owned this vacuum cleaner for three years now and could not be happier. It has saved me countless times of having to bring out the Miele vacuum cleaner. It's powerful, easy to manoeuvre, and holds its charge quite well. I've had two Jack Russells, and this thing makes it a breeze to get the job done quickly and easily. If it dies, I'll get another one for sure; I am a customer for life.

Bought this in July and it stopped working within two weeks. They did replace it. The replacement model also stopped within a month. They’re now on the third one and it has stopped working. Do not buy this product. This is terrible. Yes they keep replacing them but they’re no darn good. If every time you go to use it, it just won’t work the roller stops working instantly very poor product. Very poor disgust it

This is a great product. Excellent suction, especially for a cordless. I have a 5 bedroom house and it takes two charges ( I have had it for less then a week so battery life will eventually change). Really easy to use. Hoovers product design team did an excellent job. Very well thought out, with user in mind. My only concern is the battery not working after 6 months as reported in other reviews. Time will tell if that will occur I suppose. In Australia we have 3 year manufacturer warranty.
