Picture quality
This camera is outstanding value for the price . It was very easy to set up to my network and mobile. The app is great and very intuitive with full remote functions built in. Space for an SD card is included however the monthly charge for playback from the cloud is so cheap that a micro sd card really isnt required. I am amazed at the resolution even in pitch darkness. Movement detection is very good and pings a message via the app to your mobile, sound quality is very . A bracket is included if you need to mount the camera upside down and images can be flipped within the app. All in all an excellent camera at a terrific price point

Easy to set up indoor camera with a great picture.
The media could not be loaded. I got this camera to keep an eye on our cat. She is part feral and comes and goes at odd times. The camera is fairly easy to set up if you follow the instructions, and I had it working within about 15 minutes of unboxing. In short you just power up the camera, down load the Assark app for your particular type of phone and follow the instructions to get them to pair/connect to your local WiFi.It gives a good picture (night vision is also good) and it has quite a few extra features if you pay the small monthly subscription. The app allows you to move the camera view around and you can also set it to remember different locations. The simple addition of an SD card allows lots of storage space for thousands of video clips. Note to fit the SD card just alter the view on the app to see as far up as it will go and the SD slot appears. All in all a great camera for a low price.I only fitted the SD card recently and the cat has been out for a few days so the video is just of the cat feeding location.

Brilliant little camera
This is such a nice little camera that works brilliantly. Easy to set up and easy to operate.Picture quality is excellent. They do try pushing you towards the cloud option for recording, which the menus default to and is a bit annoying.I am using the sd card recording and once set properly records 24/7.When playing back recordings just remember to press the sd card button (it defaults to cloud).I am using it indoors through a window to monitor my driveway and car. Remember to switch off night vision if you want to use it for this purpose or you will get reflection back from the camera lights off the window glass.I am lucky enough to have a bright led street lamp opposite my property which lights up my drive, thus assisting the camera and I even get colour pictures (not as good as daytime obviously, but much better than I expected).Overall this camera has exceeded my expectations.Take a while and play around with options and settings and get used to how it works.Depending on what you want to use it for, it can be a brilliant little camera.

Is it a good picture and value for money - Yes to both
Received my Assark X3E 5mp Wi-Fi indoor camera and the first thing that impressed me was that on the box was the name and address of the manufacturer with an email address and phone number. So often difficult or even impossible to find on some items.Whilst talking about the box it came as a surprise to me that when I scanned the barcode on the sticky label it was nothing to do with the camera but an advert for a Giff Gaff Sim. That’s new to me.Open the box and first out is a power supply. All the technical details and again manufacturers contact details printedon the side. I admit I have a thing about being unable to find contact details. This along with a two-meter USB connection cable, sadly not using USB-C connector.Next out was a small mounting plate and suitable wall plugs and screws. My initial thoughts are that the mount looks rather small and light weight, but that will show up when I use it.Lastly in the box was that camera and the instructions and a warranty and special offer card.To address what I have already said about the mount: - the base of the camera has four small rubber feet and the mounts’ function is the pull the unit down onto them so it cannot move. I’m sure it will achieve this and as it is not something that will be move very often it will probably be fine, but, the small lugs still look prone to damage to me and perhaps a spare should be included as a safeguard. The first thing of note is that the mobile head unit of the camera seems the have a little more play in it than I would have expected, both rotationally and laterally in all directions. This may be of no matter as it is designed for indoor use but would be a problem outdoor in winds. On fitting the mounting plate and then the camera I can now say my thought on the mount are not correct, it is very unsatisfactory. It sits on the mount and the feet I mention are nowhere near the surface. I now think that an accidental knock could break the flimsy mount lugs, rendering it completely useless. But for now, it is holding it if a little insecurely. The two-meter lead was a meter short for me and I had to buy an extension USB lead before I could carry on. After powering up I got a “Hello” and the unit carried out its self-checking. The Android app guided me through the setting up but it proved to be quite difficult. Three times I tried to connect to my Wi-Fi and failed. Carried out a reset and failed again. My Phone and the camera were both on 2.4Ghz but after another reset, and disabling the 5Ghz cannel on the router, things worked as they explain in the Quick start guide and I was up and running. This brings up another point. The Quick Start guide gets it working but contains no information on how to use the camera or the software. Obviously, I need to download it from the Assark website. Try as I might I could not find it on an Android phone or PC. It doesn’t seem to exist. I searched for the user manual and discovered that Foscam seem to have the same camera and have a downloadable manual and their own App. Worth a try. I installed the Foscam App and reset the camera again, then started from the beginning. It appears to be pretty much the same App as Assark but at least I now have a manual. That has helped a little but the intension of both companies appears to be to make their money from the Cloud service, which is essential to get the most out of the camera. All the best features of the software do not function without the Cloud processing. Those features are impressive but for me they are not needed as I use the camera as just that and run different software.Out of interest I fitted a 128Gb SD card and formatted it. Then set it to record continuously, which it does. Then if you want to view something it has to download to your phone. As it doesn’t have a LAN option that can be quite slow as it is wi-Fi only. The best thing of all about this camera is the picture quality. It is remarkably clear and sharp on QHD and far better than the camera it is replacing. For that reason alone, I think it is a very good deal and that outweighs the other things I don’t find so pleasing. The bottom line is I would buy another if I need one. I do dislike the Cloud being the only way to get it all working as it should, and that works out quite expensive over a year. As a security camera you need permanent recording and that’s the most expensive Cloud version. Prices will only go up, I am sure. I am not going to re install Assark just to compare the Cloud prices but that might be an option. Looking online for Assark Cloud prices draws a blank again, but Foscam comes up. So, my first paragraph is a complete load of rubbish as I have found. Perhaps the phone number would work but I haven’t tried that.

Extra charges
Camera is good until you find out you have to pay for motion detector, returning the item as it was not mention on products details advertised.

Great camera and great value for money
Bought a camera to catch my landlord entering the property against my permission while I was on holiday. The recorded image is great, sends a notification when then sensing movement. Works really well in dark and dim lights too. Haven't tried the speaking functionality. But the pairing on the app was easy and it's reliable. I am able to control the camera and move it around from another country with no delay ! Connecting it to the WiFi was also extremely easy and intuitive.Has a good range of movement. Only thing is it's not battery powered which might make finding a good place to position it a bit annoying.
