Great value especially for toddlers who could open a window or door alone. We didn’t use the sticky pads as I wasn’t confident they would hold if pushed or lent against so we used screws which was so much better and safer.easy to fit, quality item, does the job well, so far they have stayed in place as expected. Easy to install. Good quality and does what it’s supposed to. Doesn’t look to out of place either. I have them on all my windows and doors. The wire is pretty thick as well. I’ve had the police come out and they said it would help deter burglary and stop my child from opening the window so I’m very happy with this purchase.

I purchased 2 and they seem to be very effective. I bought it to use on the windows on the top floor for my kids' safety. The installation is simple and straightforward. I used both the self-adhesive strips and then tightened them with the screws provided in the packaging for extra safety. There are a few drawbacks, however. One is that it can be unlocked with any key, and kids can learn to unlock them even using hairpins. The other is that if too much force is applied, it can break, though definitely not by kids but by an adult. Pros: 1. Easy to install with both self-adhesive strips and screws. 2. Comes with super adhesive taps, no need to drill in many cases. 3. Good value for money. Cons: 1. Not very strong; may break if too much force is applied. 2. The keys are interchangeable and even can be unlocked with another key or pins. Personal tips: 1. Always use the provided cleaning wipe to make sticker stick very strongly 2. Use the wire as a guide to adjust the window opening width. 3. Do not to over-tighten the screws as this could damage the plastic. Overall, despite a few limitations, these locks are useful and particularly helpful for non-child-related purposes and add an extra layer of security to our home. I am considering ordering more for the rest of our windows. I would recommend them with some caution regarding their strength and security for children.

Excellent product easy to install

Very impressive with these locks but would have preferred there to be some way to shorted the cable between the windows z frame as once its in place its adhesive is so strong you can't get it off again. I used this for a double glazed window because the hinges don’t work properly and this was the cheapest way of keeping my window open without it flapping around in the wind. It also doubles as extra window security. Unlike me, make sure to line this up with the window open and then closed to make sure it fits as I stuck it too close to the frame and the window would not close. I had to use a knife to pry it off and it had only been stuck on a few seconds so the sticky part of this works really well. Because I messed up the sticky I had to use the screws to fasten it in place. So I tested both stick and screw methods and both are really good. Obviously I am no good at DIY but I got there in the end and would recommend this product to family etc.

They do a job, but they do not seem as strong as I'd hoped, although I admit I haven't tried cutting through one. Maybe they are designed more to keep children in than intruders out.
