Side ways movement on the jaws and feels poor quality compared to all the other vise grips I have had. Disappointing purchase

To be honest, I think this needs to be replaced. These long nose vice grips naturally close misaligned. One way they can't misalign at all but to the other side they are completely out. I haven't used them at all. I can't seem to submit a return which is frustrating.

Whenever the long nose pliers are locked down, the jaws are misaligned by about half their width. This gives a weak grip on anything you wanted to grab. Even if you forced the jaws into alignment, the tolerances are too sloppy and the pliers will still just slip right away. The curved jaw pliers are a bit better, but the spring retainer on mine was damaged, it caused more wear to the spring every time it was locked and unlocked - spring will probably fail soon. It's just not worth the price. Don't waste your money on these. These are the PRC-made Irwins. The Irwins made in Taiwan are better, or you can just look for another brand completely.
