G.I. Military First Aid Case / Compass Pouch

I bought the "pack of 4." They appear to be "soft of" surplus/really good copies/clones...but I'm not an expert in military issued products. Unlike other military items with the cloth patches sewn inside, these are printed directly on the fabric, (see pic) with a military designation/description...and "US" printed on the outside. It all looks like silk screening. They're made from OD nylon that's about the weight of a medium weight gym duffle bag. They're edged with nylon OD ribbon and the stitching is done very well. It's even, straight and tacked well at corners and stress points. The fabric, ribbon and thread colors all match perfectly but are NOT OD green...they're more of a Kelly green and DO NOT match OD military surplus. They're darker but brighter...I know that doesn't make sense, but it's true. Milspec OD is dull, these are not. The green in M85 camo is closer to OD than these and that's not OD either. These pouches are a darker hue but brighter, probably because they're coated nylon. Still not a.deal breaker, they appear to be well made. The snaps are coated/painted brass and are quite stiff to manipulate. They definitely won't pop open on their own and I suggest putting a single drop of oil with a precision tip oiler on the locking coil inside the female cap. The Alice clips seem legitimate, are matte black steel and appropriately stiff to manipulate. There's a coated grommet drain hole at the bottom. Like I said...I don't know if these are genuine military/surplus or really good copies but they appear to be very well made, making them well worth the price I paid (not expensive at all). If I ever need more, I'll definitely buy these.

These were a gift for my grandson. HE LOVED THEM! They were perfect. Brand new. Made from nylon, dark green. Mounting slides work perfectly. Thanks McGuire Army Navy. Great job!

This what is what it is, a handy addition to anyones load baring rig I purchased four of them, Two each for my wife and I. We will use them to carry our compasses and our Beofeng two way radios.

In great shape, will hold a compass just fine

I got it to try and use as a FA pouch. The gaps at the top are too big and things fall out. Great for a compass though...

If you camp, this is a must have for either a compass or first aid pouch. You should have both when in the woods. Size, fit, quality all mirror what I was issued years ago That held up in jungle conditions. It was fast better than CIF issue. lol
