Review: A good blaster at your side - This is a dynamite replica of Solo's iconic blaster from A New Hope. It is different than the one pictured but better because it has the scope (see attached photo). Unfortunately the color is, of course, atrocious, but all it takes to make it look like the real thing is a simple paint job that anyone could do. If you do an image search for Han's blaster you'll find several different color schemes because it changed slightly from movie to movie and also in publicity stills. Some shots show a brown handle and gray/silver muzzle tip. I went with the all black model that Han wields in the original film. I started with a layer of white primer, added a flat black base, then finished with a black semi-gloss to give it a metal-like sheen. The final step was to distress it a bit to give it that well-used look that Han's blaster (and everything in the original film) had. I just gently raked the blaster across some bricks to scratch up the black paint a bit so the white primer layer shows through. Now it looks like the real thing! Review: This thing is cool! - This gun has some great detail for what it it is. I bought it to repaint in the style of Han Solo's blaster. An easy project... Simply sand off all the raised lettering on both sides, pry off the muzzle cap (it comes right off!) and drill the holes that are marked/indented then prime and paint with Rust-Oleum! It was really easy and looks great. It's really fun for cons since it makes the "pew pew" sounds. Happy with this! However, I should state that I am 100% irritated that I couldn't have it delivered to my house in California. That is sooooo stupid. I had to have it delivered to a friend in Nevada and he brought it to me.

Great project Han Solo blaster disguised as a cheapie toy
After first receving a dud on my initial order, Amazon sent me a good one on the second go. I have to hand it to them -- they take care of business like no one else. ***** to Amazon for being so customer-centric. This blaster obviously looks kind of cheap and silly as it is -- all white and orange. But the mold does show a lot of nice detail that with some simple modifications can be made to look like $100 replica. It's a fun and fairly easy project to get it there, too. To make mine look and feel more authentic, I first opened it up and loaded the handle with plumber's putty. It adds some much needed heft to the blaster, giving it a more authentic feel in hand. I then primed and painted the gun in flat black, and then added some metallic accents here and there, using silver/gold acrylic paints and graphite for color and sheen. Finally, a very light rubbing with black to give it some weathering. I then popped out the end of the muzzle and drilled out the little pockmarks along it, touching up the color as I went. From any kind of a distance, you could easily mistake this blaster for the "real" thing. Even up close, it looks pretty damn good. Not bad for a cheap toy and a couple hours of fiddling! Get one of these and have some fun!

With just a little paint, it's a darn good prop
So obviously this Han Solo blaster is gonna need a paint job if you're planning on having Greedo, Jabba or any Stormtroopers take you seriously. (I mean c'mon, it's white and orange) But don't let that scare you away. It's a really great mold and very easy to customize. Like most of the reviews already said, the sound it makes isn't authentic and yes the scope is molded onto the blaster itself. But that aside, this is really one of the more faithful reproductions of a DL-44 you can get for $13. I've attached a pic of how it looked after it's painted. This was my first time doing this and I'm really pleased with the outcome. Enjoy my fellow scoundrels!

Perfect for a quick costume if you are going to paint it
If you are going to paint it, it's hard to beat for the price. The only failings in the details are the front of the blaster, which is flat with tiny speaker holes, and the ends of the scope. The rest of it really comes to life when painted. I'm not an expert, so I just painted it flat black, masked the handle for some brown and hit the rest of it with a product called rub-and-buff, which adds the metallic highlights. Just don't overdo it! Oh, it comes with batteries and makes sounds too, which is a bonus I guess.

Pretty accurate, but flimsy.
It looks pretty good and accurate to the movie prop, but it very light weight and flimsy feeling. The sound isn't right. It sounds like they used a gun sound effect from whatever they already had laying around. However, if you give it a decent paint job, it makes a pretty good prop with out spending tons of money.

I shot first
This came as expected in orange and white colors like the picture. It does make sounds and it sounds like Hans blaster from the movie but muffled. What was good was I went to Michaels and got cheap acrylic paint that were 69 cents each. I got black, dark grey, chocolate brown, and metallic silver. The brand was craft smart and you can also buy brushes if you do not have any. For the flash hider on the front (big gray thing) do two coats of regular dark gray then on the third coat use dark grey and black mixed. Also on one side there is a circular dial that you have to paint silver. Also on top of the scope there is a dial that you paint black then go mix silver and chocolate brown to make bronze and then paint over. The next step is taking a really thin brush and paint silver all over the edges. Also take your chocolate brown and paint the handle ( orange lined parts). Then take clear acrylic spray coating once all dried to protect it from being scratched and paint chipping off. Have fun crafting P.S. Before you use the acrylic spray coating check for all bits of orange and white to paint over because you can not paint on the gun after that goes on.

For the price, perfect
Pros: about lifesize. Bought a Han Solo leather holster set, this fits perfectly and snugly in it. The blaster has good size and proportions. Looks very accurate, with painting it would be perfect for Halloween or cosplay. Cons: very few but… scope is solid, no lens or view area, no batteries (needs two aaa) which is fine because most free batteries in toys are awful anyway, and blaster sound is generic gun sound. Price point alone makes the cons almost meaningless.

When buying this product, I needed it for hollowween for my sun and there was not many options. This is NOT worth the price tag. It's cheap and nasty same that you would expect from TEMU not a respected toy store. I would have been happy it I paid $15 dollars not the near $50 that I paid.
