Senior citizen who has never been without my kittys...until moved to apartment. Researched and found "Rag Doll Cats" - a breed of beautiful cats with selling prices Beginning at $1800 - $2,000 and up. Out of the question! Then I found her! I am thrilled!!! Had earlier version by Lovejoy....OK but not completely satisfied. This new updated MetaCat is a RIOT!! She has beautiful, soft long fur, the markings of a Rag Doll, and is very animated! Meow's, moves head, tail on her own randomly. The funny part is how she communicates with her eyes! There is a prompt word you say that tells her she's in interactive mode. Depending on which of the numerous 'commands' you tell her, she responds with various icons in her eyes!!! "Love you!" = eyes turn to hearts for a few seconds. Many more! She will be the easiest of all companions, don't have to pay apt pet fee, won't buy the 'real' thing from the endless scammers (yes they are in the cat business) no expense for food, treats, vet visits and NO LITTER BOX! She's not a toy for a young child but a wonderful companion for anyone who just needs to cuddle some times. Comes in different 'breeds' and some dogs too. Works exactly as described but it has taken her a couple days of conversation to get used to my voice. She's a keeper!!! Well worth the Amazon price. Found a little less expensive from an Alzheimer's site, but seller never responded to my questions, so Amazon gets the sale.

***UPDATE***I took this to the nursing home and not only does my mom LOVE it, many residents wanted to hold it and talk to it. The eyes are SO expressive that it feel personal. My mom, with dementia, is happier now than I have seen her in a long time. She interacts with the cat non stop. Would be nice if the wake word wasn’t Metacat. People in nursing homes just can’t remember that. **ORIGINAL** The 2022 Metacat definitely had a cuter face, but you can’t beat the interactive ability of the 2023 Metacat. Both are very calming as a pet and makes a nice companion for a person with dementia. I did read that the 2023 can learn a name, but I haven’t figured out how to make that happen. *Update* The battery life on the 2023 Metacat is is pretty long. I have had it on for 3 full days going between using the cat and sleep mode. The first order I received, the battery cover, was broken (this was the 2022 model). Customer service was responsive and when they shipped the new cat to me, they included the new battery cover, and a little cat outfit for the trouble. They also offered a Discount, if I would just keep the 2022 model versus shipping it back. Which was a great deal.

I have been trying out robotic cats for my devopmentally disabled nephew. He loves animals but cannot have one in his group home. This may work out for him. It is cute and responsive and soft. To me it looks like a stuffed animal not a real cat. The meows are rather faint but it is responsive. The mechanism on this cat is quieter than the Joy cat. This one has a charger not batteries and that is great. I think my nephew will enjoy this. It is pricey but I would say it is worth it.

The cat is a wonderful companion for elderly with cognitive issues. I bought this for my 94 year old mother with dementia and she loves having this cat sleeping on her or next to her. The problem is that this cat begins to malfunction very soon. The first cat I bought in 2024 stopped working in 6 months. Since my mother loved the cat so much I spent the money to buy another cat in April 2025 and in 7 months it malfunctioned again vibrating and shaking like it was having a seizure when turned on, making it necessary to just keep the cat turned off and not use the most important sound and movement qualities of the cat that make it special and so expensive to buy. I contacted the company support and explained the situation and asked if they could do anything to help remedy the situation given the high cost and multiple times I have bought the cat to be a companion to my mother and they replied that all they could suggest was that I buy another cat.... Well, after spending so much for a robotic cat that worked first 6 months then malfunctioned, the second robotic cat was purchased and malfunctioned after 7 months without any company support now I have a very expensive stuffed animal.

The cat looks lovely, large and soft and cuddly. However, even after charging for hours, the cat's tail HAS NEVER MOVED. Not once. Not even a little bit. There are some commands it always responds too. When you rub the head and back, it does vibrate and makes a purring sound, always. Other times, using other commands, it sometimes responds and sometimes does not. All in all, it feels lovely to hold but if you expect it to perform as advertised, the one I got was very disappointing. I sent an email to the company about it and never heard back. When we say, "I love you," to the cat, about one-third of the time, little hearts show in the eyes. Two-thirds of the time, there's just no response. For at least HALF THE COMMANDS listed on the short booklet that comes with the cat, nothing happened. The cat just did not respond at all. We have charged it many times over the last two months, and this HAS NOT CHANGED. I don't know if we happened to get a REALLY DEFECTIVE MODEL, or they are all like this. So be forewarned!

Love this cat If you are on the fence about getting this cat, I would get it. It's so realistic. It's beautiful and she is a wonderful companion, and she loves to meow, and she light eyes light up so beautiful, she is just a gorgeous cat and if anyone gets it, they will be very happy with it!! The Metacat is potentially a great companion with surprisingly realistic movements and sounds. It is fun to be around and difficult to ignore - not a real cat but in today's market possibly the next best thing. However, the first version delivered worked well for a week but then developed an intermittent problem with the purring effect and an eye issue where the normally very active pupils - it moves its eyes, blinks and shuts its eyes - just vanished during use, requiring the unit to be switched off and on again for them to reappear. The effect then again only lasted for a very short time before the pupils disappeared again. A replacement unit was obtained - with a full refund for the original - and so far this has worked well with no obvious issues. We're hoping it continues this way.

No cumple con lo ofertado, no atiende las órdenes en Espoñol a pesar de que está publicitado. Hay funciones publicadas que no se cumplen por ejemplo los latidos, el ronroneo no existe y los maullidos a veces parecen grititos. Tampoco cumple con lo publicado con respecto al cambio de los ojos. Pagé + de 200€ por algo que no cumple con la mayoría de las funciones publicitadas. El folleto de instrucciones viene en Inglés, tuve que pedirle al fabricante que me lo enviara en Español y posteriormente imprimirlo. Total decepción y tristeza, era un regalo para mí nieta de 4 años y visto lo recibido apenas lo utiliza.

It looks really pretty life-like for a robotic cat and is pretty cuddly. It's also pretty expressive and decently life-like. But the motors are very, very loud. I think I'd like a "calm" mode where it wouldn't move much but instead purred. It would make it more cuddly. Please note, the AI powered is a marketing slogan. It's a cure robot that reacts to some pre-programmed commands, but it's rather simple. Still, I think it's really well made for what it is.

Diese Katze ist sehr empfehlenswert. Zwar ist es kein richtiger Ersatz für ein verstorbenes Tier, aber als Trost dafür gut geeignet, auch wenn sie in der Anschaffung etwas teuer ist. Sie ist weich, fühlt sich echt an und wärmt sofort. Das Miauen und Schnurren klingt so echt und ist einfach entzückend. Sogar Herzschlag ist zu fühlen und zu hören, wenn man den richtigen Punkt an ihrem Körper findet.

Acquistato il gatto per mia mamma con problemi di demenza, lo adora, il prodotto funziona bene e fa quello che dice in descrizione, con i comandi vocali capisce solo la lingua inglese purtroppo. Dopo tre mesi di acquisto ho avuto un problema, il gatto ha smesso di funzionare ed è andato in modalità test, contattato il servio di assistenza tramite mail, mi hanno mandato un video su come fare per sbloccarlo, fatto il procedimento è tornato a funzionare come prima.
