I bought this to cover the joists on my decking. You could buy deck joist tape but that would have cost about 4 times as much. The only thing I had to do was cut it to the right width. Sounds a pain but the saving was well worth it and I know this works because I had used it 7 years ago on certain parts of the decking and the wood was in great condition unlike a couple of places that were not covered at that time and so needed replacing. I got the wider roll because I also used it to protect the side of some joists (I wrapped them) They are half buried next to my garden boarders.
