Great T-SQL book
I am just finishing chapter 5 and the author is a good writer and is easy to follow. He introduces new concepts with examples that you can try and follows each chapter with some exercises for you to work on and solidify your knowledge. When he has to use a term or concept that's covered later, he'll mention the chapter it will be covered in if you want to look ahead.I've been typing in his examples myself and saving the code in .SQL files for later reference. So this book is great for both hands-on learners and for people who just want to read through it.

Save your money
This is not for beginners. This is not very organized. It's also a bit wordy for the explanations that aren't needed. It doesn't feel like it builds upon each chapter or goes over things well. I have found YouTube and Chatgpt work a lot better and more effectively at explaining and breaking down concepts than this book.

Not practical. Not easy to read
This is not a good beginner book or book for those that want to get productive quickly. It delves right away into mathematics and predicate logic along with inner workings of SQL databases before even writing a simple SELECT query. The language is overly technical. If you want to get a deep dive into the technical underpinnings of SQL, go for it. But, if you just want to get productive quickly, look at SQL in 10 minutes by Ben Forta.
