Carpoint 0410231 Hitch Lock Foldable with Padlock

A simple sturdy unit. You might want to replace the padlock with something more robust but as the trailer is still sat outside our house 6 months later, it is obviously good enough to deter!!

Strong and well made, much better than the price would suggest. Fits Alko type pressed steel couplings while hitched or unhitched or static hitch post. (Do not use while in motion!) The lock supplied is o.k. but I put a better one on and used the one supplied for my shed instead, all the same this was still very good value. I can park-up, put the hitch lock on and be confident that this will deter any trailer thief or stop it's theft alltogether.

Why did they even send the lock? Please don't use the supplied lock. In the picture the lock was fully locked, with my fingers I can move the bar to open it and get a gap albeit small. I could remove this lock with a small screwdriver in a minute, I work for social services, I'm not exactly a career criminal. The body appears ok, I'll use another lock. I was aware the lock wasn't up to much after reading review's but couldn't believe how bad, don't bother sending a lock at all, I actually think I'd have been happier and given 4 stars rather than sending me some scrap metal. Anyway, change the lock for a more secure one given it's a critical component.

Easy to use, solidly made, and hopefully would act as a deterrent to taking a trailer from the car whilst parked up. Don't drive with it attached as it doesn't allow flexing on bends. Padlock can be bettered by using a more secure model.
