Review: An excellent framework for viewing any potential venture - Some folks (like me) tend to charge ahead into a business venture without considering all the actual factors that are necessary for success. This can result in a gigantic waste of energy, time, and money. I would have benefitted from reading this book several decades ago (had it existed then)! This well-organized and well-written short book clearly lays out the key things needed not only for writing a good business plan but for achieving actual success in one’s venture. Putting it all on paper can be very clarifying, though the author wisely advises to not over-plan (leaving flexibility for the inevitable unanticipated problems, opportunities, and swerves of fate). I particularly like the section on different types of business models, very informative. Another great feature of this book is emphasizing that though money is certainly necessary, it should not be the ultimate goal of one’s efforts (see book for explanations). Complete with a number of excellent example business plans, this book well-equips a person to make their own—not for just acquiring short-term funding but as a persisting, enabling framework. Highly recommended!

Great Information!
For about 7 months I racked my brain on how to write my business plan from research on the internet. Also some online classes from a local college. I had a hard time learning from online classes and all the internet info seemed to be missing something. This book has laid out everything in order, easily, and in way that it's simple to understand. My business plan has started to take shape. Thank you so much for writing this book. It has helped me tremendously!

Excelent introduction
I think is a very nice book. I was worried in the introduction because there was some motivational stuff and I was worried that all the book was like that but no. It explain in general terms what a business plan should include it also gives you a brief introduction in the relationship with the client. Things that I would love to have in this book is the "next steps", doing a market analysis is not straightforward so I know the book is not for that but it would be good if it can point you in the right direction. I like the examples it would be great if they can add an anonymous company with real numbers. I think this a must read introduction to a business plan.

Great Book
I just finished reading this book and have gained so much knowledge on how to write a business plan. The author uses words that anybody can understand. The book goes step by step through how to construct a business plan. The authors also keep it real at the end of the book by making the reader understand that you can be overly optimistic and enthusiastic about creating your business plan. Good Job!!

Business started w/ NO experience
I knew the business I wanted to start, got the license, started it and after a year realized I made a HUGE mistake of not planning or doing much research to grow it. This book put a lot of terms and planning into perspective. It is a good start baseline guide and helped me put my ideas into fruition on paper. Good for those who havent started or have and found themselves stuck.

Every business should have one
I love this book. I have learned new things about a business in general when it comes to applying for grants and what an organization needs to know about your own business before submitting your application. This book is very informative, things that I never knew that was required from me if I want to apply for a grant. You learn a great deal about your own company in the process.
