I love this lock. The numbers and contrast are big and bold so that I don’t need the perfect light or have to be super close to the lock in order to turn the dial to my combo. My locker is on the bottom row, so for me this is a plus. It opens easily, shuts easily and again, being able to see the numbers without squatting down to the ground is a big plus for me. It was very easy to set up with my personal combination. The price was good.

Master Lock has been around a long, long time and normally their products are matchless. This one is no exception and I really liked the features it offered. Unfortunately, we all make mistakes and it was more than likely a manufacturing mistake that forced my returning this lock. When zeroing it out to open it to establish a new and different combination it wouldn't open. The seller made good on his sell with no charge and no need to return it. Fortunately, the other three didn't have that issue. I really liked the design and simplicity and and the functionally of it. I took the one that wouldn't open to a professional locksmith who related that they could open it but in doing so would afterward, simply become an ornament. Looking inside the other locks purchased and comparing with a similar lock, I could see why the manufacturer warranted it for inside use only (alloy and other metals inside not be rustproof or resistant to the outside elements). I think, being outside, the numbers would also eventually fade.

This is a great lock to use for indoors. The notches in it make it easy to turn and get your combination right. But found that outside in the elements… Dust can affect the Tumblr and makes it more difficult to use. Still, I would encourage anyone to get this.

Just what I needed for the YMCA

This lock is terribly designed. The whole thing has to come apart in order to set out change the combination. The plastic number rings have a section that sticks out to make it easier to turn the dials. In reality, these just make it harder open and close the lock; they are very easy to accidentally hit with a finger as you operate it. I can’t tell you the number of times I would close the lock and it wouldn’t shut because the number ring had moved as I closed the lock. Adjusting for this, I would carefully grasp the lock be the sides ( so I wouldn’t accidentally change the numbers). Even being careful isn’t enough-on closing, the lock would get stuck on the inner workings and refuse to close all the way. My husband took the lock apart and filed down the offending bit of metal that the lock was getting stuck on. That reduced the frequency of the lock getting stuck a little, but I’m still having to be careful when opening and closing. I hate this lock. I would never buy it again.

As my eyes get older these locks are great for around the yard. I have 5 of them . They are easy to set to the same combo number. The white numbers on the color background makes it easy to read vs. the brass locks. To be honest, they are only keeping honest people out.

Numbers are huge for those who can't see

Lock seems fairly secure but it's a paid to turn because of the way the numbers are designed. Some are raised, some not and it's a bit clunky to use.

Distinct enough to recognize in the locker room, easy to set your own code and easy to dial the code up.
