Brilliant tool
I needed a tool to sharpen my axes and machetes as I do alot of survival hobbies and my whet stones just didn't do the job, so I bought this and it's amazing 5 stokes of it on my 22" machete and it razor sharp even my thick axes it managed to put a decent edge on plus its not bulky or heavy so it can fit in my kit bag and I can sharpen my tools out in the forests etc, highly recommended.

Surprisingly effective on a hatchet
I have written hundreds of reviews in regards to items sold through Amazon. The good, the bad and, sometimes, the ugly This review is based on my personal opinions gleaned as a result of decades of experiences in a professional occupation, using firearms for close to fifty years, outdoor pursuits, DIY, as a consumer, a property owner and raising a family. REVIEW This Smith's 50582 Axe and Machete Sharpener is sold through Amazon at a cost of £13.99 (July 2017) including delivery. The sharpener was delivered very quickly. The sharpener is a little awkward to use. I was very pleasantly surprised to find just how quickly an edge developed on a new, (and blunt) hatchet. The bug comes with a wire brush, it is inset into the handle. I removed it to use it, put it back in place and although it stays there it works loose and falls out very easily.

Easy to use and works well
Seems to do what is says on the box, my axe blade was a little different in angle to the sharping angle on this so what just a matter of adjusting my angle when using it.

Well worth it. Very easy to use
Good value for money. I have a machete for allotment purposes and found this is brilliant in sharpening the machete highly recommend.
