Great controller
PS5 DualSense Edge Controller Review: Premium Control with Lasting Value Sony’s DualSense Edge controller for the PS5 is a high-end evolution of the standard DualSense, and after hands-on time with it, it's clear this is a serious piece of hardware made for gamers who want customization, durability, and long-term value. The build quality is top-notch, with a satisfyingly weighty feel and rubberized grips that improve comfort during long sessions. The standout features include remappable back buttons, adjustable trigger sensitivity, and multiple customizable profiles—perfect for switching between competitive shooters and cinematic single-player titles. But what really justifies the premium price (roughly double the cost of a regular DualSense) is the modular stick design. Instead of replacing the whole controller due to the all-too-common issue of stick drift, you can just swap out the stick modules—an option that can save significant money and frustration in the long run. That alone offsets the higher upfront cost, especially for gamers who put in heavy hours. Bottom line: the DualSense Edge isn’t cheap, but it earns its price tag with thoughtful features, superior build quality, and the future-proof ability to repair rather than replace. For serious players or anyone tired of controller turnover due to drift, this is an investment worth making.

Great! Bad Battery Though
no more claw grip! Feels premium, love swapping the stick caps and making profiles. But man, the battery dies super quick, like 3-4 hours max, way worse than my regular DualSense. And it's expensive. Worth it if you play a ton competitively, otherwise maybe stick with the normal one

An awesome Controller that you wish you would have had all along!
Honestly, I don't know how I have lived without this controller! The extra adjustments on the controller itself are a game changer (pun intended)! Adding the extra buttons the you can assign to any other button on your controller is a very nice feature! I don't know how many times I have died in a game due to hitting the wrong D-Pad button! Where I was misinformed, and something I wish they would incorporate, is the two extra buttons can only be assigned to existing buttons. What I was really hoping for, was two extra buttons that you could assign to other moves/abilities in game settings. In a perfect world, that would be awesome! But, this is life, and we take what we can get. Otherwise, I absolutely love this controller! The awesome case it comes with has the extra sticks (long and short), and two sets of buttons that go on the bottom of the controller. The fin buttons are perfect to add as specific D-Pad buttons that can be hard to get at. They go two different directions (in and out), but do the same thing. Maybe they'll have an update in the future that allows the direction to be assigned to different buttons. It would be nice to have access to all 4 D-Pad buttons underneath the controller, where it's much to access. Although a bit spendy, I found it to be well worth the expense!

You may not need it, but if you want it, you want it.
Premium product. Very well made and thought through. It takes time getting used to the extended features - and learn how to take advantage of them. Generally, it can give you an edge in games like Call Of Duty or Battlefield, and perhaps for the manual driving in GT7 and F1 - and if you’re really into this genre and spend a lot of time playing competitively, and you already got a memory expansion for your PS5 Pro, then you will find a way to justify this $200 gadget - but if you’re a casual player then… well… if you can afford it then enjoy. Otherwise, you may want to invest in a memory extension for your PS5 first and ponder whether a $200 actually makes sense for a $500 - $750 console.

I love the DualSense Edge Controller, BUT...
...the charging port construction SUCKS! I really enjoy the backpaddles and ergonomics. However, it has become incredibly difficult to charge. Plugging in the USB-C cable is not enough; I have to bend and angle the charging cable until FINALLY the orange lights indicate the DualSense Edge is receiving a charge. Word of advice: If you buy the Edge, do NOT charge it while you are playing. Only charge the controller while it is sitting perfectly still, like when you are at work or going to school. I charged it while I played - I do this with all my controllers - and this was a big mistake. All that moving around damaged the weak charging port. The DualSense Edge is too damn fragile to play while it's charging. Sony recognizes an issue with the charging port, - they even include a plastic clip to secure the charging cable to the charging port. Sadly, the clip is not enough, and my DualSense Edge is dying a slow death as a result. All the buttons and sticks work great, but it is now so difficult to charge I just use other controllers. That is sad, because this is honestly my favorite PlayStation controller.
