Quick easy fix on my 03 Doge Ram. 234,000 miles before it needed this. The ignition would not turn at all. I waited too long to replace. The original had to be drilled out until the cylinder would spin to the 'ON' position. Once it was in ON position, push in the small tab under the cylinder and it pulls striaght out. Follow the instructions and you will be finished in less than 15 minutes if you dont have to drill out! I suggest you change if it starts to get stuck and not wait until its permanantly stuck like mine. Lots of videos on line!

Part number 7012945 - Purchased for a 2004 Tahoe. My original key broke in half, inside the ignition lock cylinder. That was fun. Once I got it out, this new cylinder slid into place perfectly. Here's a couple of pointers for anyone thinking of purchasing this set 1) The wafers (most people call them tumblers, but they are called wafers), springs and cut of the key are new and don't come lubricated. This makes inserting and removing the key very tight. If you apply a small amount of lithium grease (like white lightning) to the lock cylinder (smear it around and get it into the openings), it will make the operation much smoother. 2) This is not a programmable unit. The keys do not have transponder chips in them. The only factory anti theft system this works with uses a magnet that's built into the cylinder, which this has. If your vehicle uses a transponder key or if your key is the type that would need programmed, this is not the right part for your vehicle. My only gripe with this kit is that there are only 2 door lock cylinders and not 3. They must not realize that the back door (lift gate, barn doors or even tailgate) also use a lock cylinder so, I have to rekey my back door lock to this key now.

Works great and easy to install in a 02 Dodge ram 1500

Key was almost impossible to insert and remove from keyway on all 3 locks. After installation, key would not turn in the lock. Had to drill the lock out to install another tumbler that worked. Very upset with this purchase. Spent 5 hours to remove this tumbler while stopping to watch many, many Youtube videos on how to remove this.

I have a Chev Monte Carlo 2006 and for some reason my door wouldn't lock. We thought someone tried to use their own key and broke it inside the lock but we didn't find anything wrong with it so we replaced the door lock actuator and while it made the clicking sound it wouldn't stay locked. Then we found out a sensor was burned out so we replaced it and it finally locked. I still had to replace the door lock since the original wasn't working. It fit great and I won't say much about the ease of installation since I had my cousin do it 🤣 I use the new key to unlock my door (i don't have to though since the remote unlocks the door) but I didn't switch out my original ignition switch since based on reviews I read I would have to have it programmed and that seemed like a hassle to me and more money to waste. 2004 Dodge Ram 3500, no-chip-required key locks - Very easy 15-minute install since I still had a functioning key. Removed steering column covers, disconnected batteries, turned key to on position, used a nail to unlock the ignition lock, popped new cylinder in, reconnected batteries, and it worked fine. This Lock turns both ways, like the original did - right for ignition or left for just power. Note: You will need a star (T-20) screw driver to remove the steering column covers, a standard T-20 drill attachment will not work because the bit holder is too fat for the holes in the steering column.

The replacement works for the ignition with the new key provided. However do not throw out the old key because it will be needed to open and close the doors. I also kept the old cylinder. At some point i will need to take out the new cylinder and have it keyed alike the doors.

Ignition cylinder is easy to replace...haven't replaced the door locks yet. Little more extensive work..you tube videos will help

Works and was easy to install. The new keys are NOT chipped and are cut a bit sloppy. Took some effort to get in/out until the edges broke in. You’ll need to have a chipped key made if you have a security system.
