Am super happy with the color. Lost the first one and couldn’t find and for about 2 years. Lamy is one of the best pen makers of our generation. Still have the first yellow fountain pen i got in 2007.

Smooth, love the color (use it with ink of same name - petrol). Enjoying it thus far. Use it for writing. For drawing, I somehow prefer the Lamy Safari pens and they have a little more feedback and don't just slip easily.

The Lamy packaging is the basic flimsy silver box, not the black slotted boxes that the brick-and-mortar stores or many reputable online places (like Goulet Pens) actually provide. It passed all the genuine Lamy tells: blue ink under the nib, ink cartridge (not cartridge converter) supplied, genuine Lamy nib, feed that holds genuine Lamy nibs firmly, etc. The only letdown was the freight packaging was a flat cardboard envelope. The basic silver box was crushed inside it. I was disappointed at the way it was sent. The actual pen arrived okay but I cannot complain as the price and the delivery time were very good.

When I see an item sold and dispatched by Amazon I do not hesitate. Was sent on time and in great condition. As for the Lamy fountain pens, I have been using them since 2002. I take a lot of notes for meeting minutes, brainstorming, studying various tasks etc. I find that the fountain pens give me the right amount of resistance and fluidity to write without effort. Plus, the ergonomic design helps a lot. My latest Lamy was showing signs of wear and tear after about 7 years of use and I wanted to renew. The petrol color is really nice, the pen tip itself is a bit stiff at the moment but will probably ease a little bit as I use it. All in all, no change in the high quality of Lamy.

Solid, affordable starting fountain pen to test if you are going to like this style of writing. I oftentimes have a 2-3h long writing sessions and although the pen does bite into the finger a bit, it's not too bad and in general comparable to other good pens. The holder is a bit wobbly, meaning attaching to something thin probably not going to work. Or, if you are someone who is getting easily irritated by slight misalignment, this one will trigger you. The default tip got replaced almost immediately for an all black fine one, which I personally prefer better. Leaving it without work for a week means it's going to dry out and you should expect to need bleeding it for a few seconds. Aluminium is definitely a nice touch and feels rather robust but not too heavy.
