Please note this product will only play in 4K players and not Blu-ray players Review: A nice 4k Transfer with some nice colour depth - As a previous owner of the DVDs and the normal Blu-rays the 4K upgrades are a nice addition. Some movies have a better transfer than others but still a nice step UP. The HDR upgrade is quite nice . I have to admit and I am quite bias as I watched these on a OLED 4k 2017 model which gives these movies an draw dropping experience, blacks are amazing and colours are out of this world . If you are a potter fan you will enjoy these but do make sure you have a 4K TV that has HDR as you will not benefit much from normal blu-rays. Review: Truly Worth the Additional Cost When Accessed Via Appropriate Facilities - It really looks good on my 4K LG Oled television and is worth the additional cost to achieve a cinema-like quality in line with what the production team expected.

Problems only if you are attempting to play on the SONY UBP-X800
Where to start... Bought as an Xmas gift, watched the first 2 films, they both glitched halfway through watching with the screen freezing, so doing the usual i checked to see if i could rewind and playback without issue, after a number of attempts it seemed to play ok for the rest of each of the first 2 films. That said trying to play the third film was a nightmare. Every time I put the disc into the player I got a message stating the disc could not be read and may not be finalised. I spent 30 minutes turning off the player, replacing the disc, ejecting and re-inserting many times to no avail. No discs had any visible scratches at all on, looked perfect in every way so it wasnt scratches causing this problem. So returned to Amazon for replacement who sent out a new boxset to me. Arrived today (3rd January) so I started testing each disc just to ensure they loaded, and lo and behold disc 3, exact same issue. In half an hour of ejecting and re-inserting disc it did play 'Once' but after I stopped playback and tried to start again it went back to not recognising the disc which leads me to believe that this box set (or at least this batch from whichever factory its produced at) is badly produced. All of my other 30 or so 4k films play flawlessly in my Sony UBP X800 player which means this whole set must just be duff, im sending back this second set for a refund as ive had enough, watching films shouldnt be this difficult at this price. UPDATE: Took a punt at buying from local HMV, and unfortunately the same issue occurs albeit not straight away, after watching about 1.5 hours of film it glitched and froze and then the disc wouldnt play again displaying the same problem as before. Had a mess about with removing and replacing disc again to no avail. Straight away tried other 4k films that are not Harry Potter and they worked instantly without issue. Im now convinced a large volume of these 4k Harry Potter films seem to be problematic and other reviews here also seem to be seeing similar problems. FURTHER UPDATE (April 2018): I have recently discovered this is not an issue with the discs, this is a problem with the SONY UBP-X800 Player not being able to play 4k triple layered discs from Warner Brothers only (all other publishers discs and 2 layer Warner Brothers discs play perfectly fine). So i have amended my score on this product to reflect this new information. I also posted a review of the player to wanr of this issue at present.

Not for my Bluray player
The headline offer of a 4K UHD version (Bluray) is confusing. You can watch it on a UHD TV, but only with a UHD Bluray player. There is no other blu Ray version included, which I missed seeing when I bought. I tried watching today for the first time, my bluray does not recognise the disc. I feel cheated as the return date has expired a month or so ago and I am out £77.

I loved this set
This ONLY refers to the 8 disc UK 4KUHD set of the films. All of these films are much improved over any previous version that I've seen, including bluray and 4k streaming. NOTE: in reading the UK Amazon description, you may think that regular blu-ray discs are included in this set along with the UK 4K UHD discs. That is incorrect. This UK 4K UHD set contains only 8 discs -- the 4K UHD versions -- and no blu-rays. In addition the UK 4K UHD discs contain only the movies with no supplements or deleted scenes. That was actually a plus for me as buying this set meant that I was not duplicating other content that I already have on my existing blu-ray set of the films. I only wanted to upgrade the films to 4K UHD -- and this set does that without forcing me to rebuy blu-rays that I already own. The set is also considerably less expensive than sets in other countries that include regular blu-ray versions. I loved this set!

Physical Discs Won’t Play on PS4 Pro (4K UHD version box set)
I have placed this as a 5 star review although I can’t play the discs. I have a PS4 Pro and ordered the 4K UHD box set. they arrived today only for me to find out that these 4K UHD discs won’t play on PS4 Pro. My one fault, I should have investigated it further. However I do believe I can download the UV version of these movies using the code that comes with the box set, and watch them streamed or transferred on a USB stick. I’ll update this review with my findings. PS4 Pro users, just be aware that your console will not play the physical 4K UHS discs.

Harry Potter UHD Boxset - NO EXTRAS
This review is for the Harry Potter 8 film UHD (4k) collection issued in November 2017. I clarify this as Amazon may paste this review on every Harry Potter DVD/Blu Ray ever issued. I have only watched the first of the 8 films in the set but wanted to issue this review quickly due to an discrepancy in the item description which I will raise below. I only had these films on DVD and having watched the first film the improvement in picture and sound quality is very noticeable, as you would expect. If you already own the films on blu-ray I could not say whether you will notice an appreciable improvement. For UHD the price of £80 for the box is very good, working out at £10 per film which is half the price of a single UHD film. However, you only get one UHD disk per film and no normal blu-rays. Personally, I think this is great as I’m not sure who ever uses the standard blu-ray if you’re buying UHD, it’s just a waste of plastic. The description says “Includes the complete 8-Part Documentary Series ‘Creating the World of Harry Potter’.” This box set does not include the documentary or any extras whatsoever. You get the basic theatrical release of the films in UHD and nothing else. Having only owned the films on DVD with little extras I was very interested in seeing the documentaries as I’m keen on film making. This is a disappointment. If you just want the basic films in UHD this is a well-priced set. I have no doubt that in the coming months Warner Bros, will issue a Super/Definitive/Ultimate/Extra Special box set which includes the documentaries and probably the extended versions of a couple of films so they can extract more money from these films. If you want the documentaries I suggest you wait for that.

No Blu-Rays here!
I don't think I need to discuss the films, there are probably only a few billion people on the planet who haven't seen them. However, what I would point out, is that these discs are 4K UHD (HDR) only. That is, Blu-Ray copies are NOT included. Fortunately I already possess a Blu-Ray collection, so that is not a major disappointment, and I was wondering what to do with it! But, heading suggests that you get both for £79.99 - This is good for eight 4K films, but not as good as including the Blu-Rays too!
