All 16 episodes from the fifth season of the US zombie adventure drama based on the comic books by Robert Kirkman. When police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) wakes from a coma to find the world in the grip of a zombie epidemic, he joins a small encampment on the outskirts of Atlanta, where a band of human survivors struggle to withstand the terrifying advances of the walking dead. In this season, the survivors face new threats from both the living and the dead in the form of walkers and the cannibalistic hunters from Terminus. Meanwhile, a section of the group travels to Washington D.C. in search of a cure for the decimating virus. The episodes are: 'No Sanctuary', 'Strangers', 'Four Walls and a Roof', 'Slabtown', 'Self Help', 'Consumed', 'Crossed', 'Coda', 'What Happened and What's Going On', 'Them', 'The Distance', 'Remember', 'Forget', 'Spend', 'Try' and 'Conquer'. Review: Great show - Great show Review: i MUST COMMENT ON episode 8; CODA - ok, Coda is possibly the best episode in the entire shows history (with the exception of the Carol/Lizzie storyline in 'The Grove'.) i actually shed a few tears! and I'm really not a crier. as much as i hate that they killed Beth off, it was hands down the best written death (and surprising death) in the shows history (and I've now watched season's 7's major death!). i wanted to ball my eyes out with Maggie at that scene, i still can't quite get over it. Anyway, beth turned out to be a surprisingly, brilliantly written character, who came a long long way. rivalling both carol & daryl in terms of originality & uniqueness. her development really can't be underrated, and she seems to have come shining out of the woodwork of being just a minor, slightly immature, character, a la carol, but sadly, not destined to survive like carol. which makes the tragedy all the more poignant with her. it's characters like beth that make the show so great. they clearly had planned her death for a while, given her own forecasting of her own demise with Daryl in the shed/cabin. i think most viewers expected her to be long dead before getting this far, which adds to the sense of tragedy. i personally would have had her survive, but well done nonetheless, great episode, great show!

Back on top form
After good but not always great outings in the previous couple of seasons, this year struck me as a real return to form for the Walking Dead crew - there's an awful lot going on this year with very little down time. Characters come and go rapidly with the majority of them getting a story arch of some description and significance. It picks up exactly where the conclusion of Season 4 left off with a violent, bloody and chaotic opening that shakes things up all over again. From there the pace is fairly relentless with a string of interesting tangents and fascinating possibilities. As usual it's the living, breathing peeps that are causing most of the problems with the walkers stumbling around picking up the pieces. At times it feels almost unrelentingly bleak as it bounces along from one tragedy to the next - just when you think things really can't get any worse, they do. They really do. It's all littered with some of the more arresting, shocking and memorable moments of the last few years so roll on Season 6 so we can do it all over again.

Great Series but loosing direction.. Hopeing for better quality than season 4 boxset...
I’ve been a huge walking dead fan from series one, and I’m looking forward to series 6 starting soon, that being said, I feel like the series is starting to loose its direction. Two reasons for knocking a star off. One. Series 4 and 5 were great at the beginning and end but tiresomely slow in the middle, and there seems to be no direction for the story anymore. I am sure there are a few out there that would love to just watch zombies being hacked up season after season, but unless the series finds direction and starts to show the beginnings of an end goal to the whole thing, other than just a bunch of people surviving every week, I doubt the series will last more than a few more seasons before the ratings drop enough for the series to get its final season forced upon it by the powers above. Two. EOne have been chosen again to distribute the Blu-ray/DVD for season 5 in the UK. I have an extensive Blu-ray collection, and the season 4 Blu-ray boxset is without any hesitation, the worst quality blu-rays in my collection. Terribly grainy picture on every disc. If you are viewing them on a HD TV with lots of built in noise filters you probably wont notice it, but if you are using a pro Monitor like me and software with no noise filtering, the quality is the worst I’ve ever seen on a blu-ray. There have been some excuses like it being purposefully shot on 16mm film and grainy to add to the atmosphere, but this is complete B*S! Seasons 1 to 3 were also shot on 16mm film and its hard to see any grain/noise on the disks. If you look at the star rating from 1 to 3 on the season four boxset, the majority of the complaints are saying exactly the same thing about picture quality. The 4 and 5 star rating are just people rating how good the series is. I wrote to eOne about the poor quality and silence… shows how much they care about their customers. If it wasn’t for the series being so good, I would have given it one star for the quality of the season 4 boxset. I’ve ordered season 5, should get it Monday, but I’m already set for disappointment about the quality. Come on eOne, surprise me! Update: 29.09.2015 Season 5 Blu-ray boxset arrived this morning. Tested it this afternoon, and not much of an improvement in picture quality than the Season 4 boxset. Varying picture quality, from excessive noise, (not just on dark scenes) to barely noticeable. Picture quality seemed to improve a little half way though disc 4 onward. I would say a slight improvement from the season 4 boxset, but still not anywhere near the quality of the season 3 boxset. No point informing Amazon as they will do what they did last time, and get their quality control to test it on a HD TV with lots of noise filtering, say there's nothing wrong, and send me out a new one with exactly the same poor picture quality. A little disappointing but expected. Wish AMC would stop using eOne to distribute The Walking Dead in the UK.

Still top of it's game
Been a huge fan of The Walking Dead since day one & had this season on pre-order ASAP. With the shocking revelations concerning the Terminus inhabitants in the finale of last season,i couldn't wait to get my teeth into season 5! There are three main stories spread across this boxset-the first arc at Terminus is over way too early on,considering the threat imposed, but is resolved with predictable violence & brutality. The second story & weakest by far, involves a group of survivors & dodgy 'cops' at a hospital. This plot was kinda dull & a chore to watch after the shocking first arc,but also,(mercifully),rushed through before getting to the main event, where they join a group over in Alexandria, which continues beyond & into season six. Along the way there are new & returning characters joining the 'family'with a sprinkling of heart-wrenching moments & of course, lots of the usual intestines all over the place. Apart from the yawn-some hospital sub-plot,there is also some unusually laughably bad & downright cringe-worthy dialogue in a few scenes. However, these minor inconsistences don't detract from Walking Dead being still a fantastic TV series. Roll on Season six! :o)

Nachdem die 4. Staffel einfach miserabel war macht die 5. Staffel alles wieder gut. Klare Empfehlung

TV can be like music and art - highly subjective. TWD seemed like a joke to so many when it first came out, another ridiculous "zombie" story. Anyone who knew the comics or decided to blindly tune in to check it all out, were quickly hooked. TWD is least about zombies or "walkers" and such much more about the human condition and it's path, when faced with a daily fight for survival and a total lack of security or infrastructure. Zombies are merely at catalyst and you quickly realize that they pose far less of a threat than the living. The story writing is unpredictable and top tier, as each and every season, we continue to be caught off guard and hopelessly concerned about the well being of all the main characters, with whom.we are so invested. When a series leaves you angry, horrified, joyous, nervous or morally judgemental, it has done it's job and then some. I doubt anyone who might be reading this, is doing so without already knowing this series, but to anyone who might be looking to dive in for the first time, just do it but... be prepared to be helplessly hooked into something that that you can not easily escape, not that you will want to.
