Having decided to replace my old Sony On-ear Headphones I started looking around for a pair of new Headphones at a reasonable price and, after having checked up on various makes, I came across the Betron Retro High Definition Over-Ear-Headphones. As Betron was a name I'd never heard of, I did some extensive research into this make online and on YouTube and decided to purchase a pair of Betron Retro's as I Iiked the design and the added appeal of them selling at a price that suited my budget! The fact that the Betron Retro's are a British-Manufactured make made them even more interesting and attractive. They arrived very soon after I had ordered them and I couldn't wait to open the box and try them out. I prefer to use headphones nearly all of the time and - as my listening is mainly of Classical music, Jazz and some Rock music, plus DVDs and CDs played on my Blu-ray player as well as watching programmes via my connected TV - any pair of headphones I use needs to be able to cope with a wide range of audio experiences. The first thing that has to be said is that they are very Bass-heavy. This isn't too much of a problem if you prefer this feature and have a good Bass control on your Hi-fi system and can moderate this. Secondly, I thought that the sound felt very compressed and this was probably because the inner diameter of the ear pads, around 50mms, was quite small and felt quite tight around my ears. So, I ordered some larger ear pads, with an inner diameter of around 60mms, and this has transformed these headphones incredibly. The replacement ear pads I purchased have an external diameter of 110mms, as opposed to the size of the ear pads fitted on to the Betron's being 100mms, and with the larger inner diameter, they provide more ear comfort and create a more spacious sound and more detail. An example of this improvement leapt out at me when listening to an orchestral recording on Vinyl LP - which I've heard many times - of a section with light taps on a Bass Drum that I'd not heard with such clarity before. Naturally, if you want to spend much more for a pair of headphones then the sky's the limit but, if you're looking for a good budget pair, then I can recommend the Betron Retro's as they have improved my listening experience 100%, although I would recommend buying replacement ear pads to enhance your listening experience using these headphones!

This is probably the fastest review I ever felt I wanted to write for something like this. After reading the other reviews I had the feeling this was a good value for money and I bought the thing, more as an experiment than anything else as I'm always looking for good budget price headphones to try out. I was not expecting this at all. This product is amazing and by far the best value for money I ever encountered in something like this. I don't know what technology is iside this thing but the sound quality is simply amazing. The range , the depth and even the bass (some people said it was not that great) are GREAT !!! Just WOW ! Really cool retro design too which I loved from the get go. Ok, do not compare this to a ultra-mega-high-end studio-product that costs hundreds more, but even as it is I'm absolutely amazed by the overall quality on this. In fact, I spent the last couple of hours comparing the sound from this with a bunch of other phones I have around and this one sounds even better than a couple of others that cost me about ten times more from really well known expensive brands... Even for listening with my cellphone, just playing a youtube video this equipment excels at everything. I was not expecting this at all. If you're into movie soundtracks , don't have much money and need a really, really good headphone set, you cannot go wrong with this product. For orchestral music, for blues, acoustic and above all for Heavy Metal the performance of this product was beyond everything I was expecting for the price. Particularly for Heavy Metal like Dark Sarah, Nightwish, Blind Guardian and stuff that has a lot of cinematic feel on its sound you cannot go wrong with this product. The noise cancellation is not perfect but i was not expecting it to be, altough is very very good, but the overal sound quality when played on a cellphone and on a regular hi-fi stereo ( got an LG myself at work here ) is trully a surprise. I have no idea what these manufacturers used to build this thing but keep doing what you do. This product has just become my favorite headphones for music, talk radio and audiobooks and it will be essential for me when Im working in illustration at night for months to come for sure. Very confortable also. I'm absolutely impressed with this. I haven't tested it with gaming yet.

I'd ideally give these headphones a 3.5 out of 5 if possible. I'll explain why below: Design: Firstly, these look great and they seem well made. I'm terms of comfort I'm afraid to say they aren't quite good enough. The earpads are big, thick and comfortable, but weirdly, I can feel a hard plastic thing pressing against my head through the earpads. No idea what it is, but it would become annoying over time. The adjustable headband is great. Materials are of a good quality considering the price of this product. Sound: This is a difficult thing to review on this product, because I'm used to more expensive headphones. I would say for the £16 I paid for them, the sound is pretty good. In fact, I doubt you would find better sound for less than this. But it's not perfect. The bass isn't quite rich enough to be exciting. Mids are decent. Highs get a bit lost unfortunately. That said.....for £16, the sound is pretty impressive. If you fancy something similar to this, I would recommend looking at the AKG K52's. They are only slightly more expensive but are leaps and bounds better in sound quality. The only annoying thing about the AKG's is the cable is pretty long. But I'd say the AKG's are a much better buy.

These are very good quality for the price and they are very comfortable to wear.. The sound is ok with no EQ but a bit heavy on the bass for me but this is easy to EQ to your liking. For the price these are very good , I have paid alot more to named brands and got alot less for my money.. They are a tad heavy but in a good way and they fit nice and snug on my head.. I was happy to wear these for long periods of time.. Recommended..

I had ordered another headset from a very highly regarded brand and sent them back, as they sounded muted. This set is a third of the price, and the specs did not give a sensitivity rating (dB), but I took a chance and ordered. BINGO! Perfect! The box says sensitivity is 108 dB, the minimum I was hoping for, so it worked out. Will buy this brand from now on! It looks awesome too, and even comes with a carrying bag. I'm just over the moon.

Klang ist in Ordnung für den Preis, richtig gut wird der Klang mit einem Audiobooster zwischengerät +3dB. Da kopfhörer noch neu sind drückt es etwas aber das wird sich legen nach ein paar Wochen. Optik ist 1A. Verarbeitung halt dem Preis entsprechend. Kann man kaufen.

Per quello che costano, sono cuffie davvero ottime. Comodissime, leggere ed un suono tutto sommato davvero dignitoso in rapporto al prezzo. C’é una decisa predominanza dei bassi ma se si riuscisse ad equalizzare, il suono é davvero buono. Le consiglio decisamente anche perché, per i miei gusti, sono davvero belle. Il cavo non é intercambiabile ma é di ottima qualitá è abbastanza lungo per un uso domestico. In mobilità sono poco indicate a causa delle dimensioni.

These are comfy (even with my huge head) built well and sound good. They isolate noise enough to be useful in many situations, but are not noise canceling. A shockingly good set for the price.

Molto meglio di altre marchiate , probabilmente il fornitore e lo stesso ma non paghi il brand.
