Good product
Excellent compliment to your Makita Miter Saw (or any brand saw.) I have the DeWalt version of this saw stand which is very good too. I like this Makita better because it is heavier duty, has wheels, has two carrying handles, there are elevated hard rubber feet on the brackets to set your saw on when not on the stand, the lock down mechanisms for attaching the saw to the stand are very robust and tight yet easy on and off, and also, one foot on the stand has an adjustment for non level surfaces. All in all this is a well executed saw stand. The narrow wheel base was not designed to transport or store the saw while attached to the stand; regardless however, it is a simple fix, just widen the wheel base with a 2' section of aluminum and add larger wheels (see the attached picture of the modification.) It is totally transportable and way more versatile now. I would not even attempt to adapt my similar DeWalt stand to do this because the DeWalt saw lockdown mechanism is nowhere near as robust as the Makita.

This will work with other brand saws
This saw stand is sturdy and the extension work smoothly and tight without sag. The best of all the stand works will all saws, I know Mikita only mentions working with their saws, but it works with other brands in fact I had purchased the Dewalt Comparable stand which stated it was universal to other brands only to find out it would even come close to mounting my Craftsman saw. I researched all over the internet to find one saw stand that would work with a Craftsman Saw, but didn’t care to much for that brand and it’s features. As far as trying to roll the saw around attached to the stand I would say it’s not recommended due to the narrow wheel track have no real stability. But if you want to make it a one piece mobile unit you can replace the wheels and spread the track width so that it will be much more stable when leaving the saw attached. You can find out how to do this modification to the Mikita stand on YouTube. This is a great stand I definitely prefer it over Dewalts the only thing that could be a little better maybe the use of levers to release the legs instead of the buttons.

Read the reviews here on Amazon. They are spot on.
I'm not going to add anything too different than what others have already stated. Pros: Good sturdy, robust stand for the money. Supports my Makita LS1018 10" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw just fine. Stand is relatively light weight WITHOUT "my" saw. Cons: Much like others have written .... the roller wheels are basically useless while the saw IS attached. WAY too narrow a stance for "my" saw. I can't imagine any saw being too stable on these wheels. I plan to upgrade to a wider wheel base and bigger wheels only if I find myself wheeling the saw /stand assembly around together often. My stand DID NOT come with any assembly instructions. Assembly took about 30 minutes once I figured out by looking at the picture on the box how and where things went. A minor inconvenience if your mechanically inclined. The brackets that mount to the saw to the stand with the "cam" lever aren't explained anywhere. After taking a few minutes to play around with them, I figured that out too. The lever and cams were WAY TOO tight and did not engage the T-slot so they had to be adjusted. Probably the biggest pet peeve was trying to attach the handles at each end of the stand. The hex nut fits into a slot inside the handle end. You then use the Allen bolt to attach the handle through the sheet metal. Near impossible to do while the stand is upright. The hex nut kept falling out. Sooooo .... you have to flip the whole unit upside down and attach the handles first ............ BEFORE you mount your saw. All minor inconveniences. Last, the angle support "thingy" is cheap. I'd rather have two roller stand suports ..... but that's my preference. Conclusion: Ultimately, only time and usage will ultimately determine if it's built to last. Makita hasn't disappointed too often for me. The minor flaws can be overlooked on the Makita WST06 Compact Folding Miter Saw Stand. Hence.... 4 stars.

Makita is top chedda!
Idk what people are complaining about. This thing is sturdy, well built, well engineered as usual by Makita. Sure the wheels are kinda lame but the manual says don’t transport the unit with the saw attached so the wheels will easily handle transport through dirt and such, see photo of manual. The saw comes off easily as the brackets should stay attached to the saw and not taken off each time. Incredible people can’t figure this out. Anyway, Makita rules, festool drools. The directions to put the stand together are easy to follow.

Strong base, near useless brackets
Makita is the last independent major tool manufacturer, all the others owned by managed by investment groups, and produces a broader array of high quality tools than any other manufacturer. Witness how it's major competition in the commercial tool market has dropped all its corded tools, opting for a limited battery system costing two to four times as much. Nonetheless, there quality is not consistent, this saw stand being a glaring example. I use my 12" slide saw for both trim and framing The base itself is sturdy, the adjustable leg and wheels useful. The problem is with the support brackets, which appear to be a hasty afterthought. The height adjustments rely on a week mechanism that will not support much weight and cannot be adjusted for level, neither of mine are parallel to the saw table. the worst are the poorly designed and unconventional mounting brackets, removing a 65lb tool simply does not work at times. I was surprised to discover that more typical and reliable brackets are supplied to the european market, available here only by special order and high shipping costs. I modified my saw to accept Dewalt mounting brackets on their stand. I'' part with the Makita stand for shipping costs. Anyone interested?

I never write reviews, I was so impressed with this bit of kit I felt I really had to. Super easy to put together and very sturdy. I have a lot of makita kit but I am so chuffed with this addition. I wish I’d bought one years ago

Tout simplement génial. Support très stabl, la scie est bien calée dessus. Il se plie pour se ranger facilement. Il est muni de roulettes pour le déplacement. Les extensions sur les côtés permettent de couper de grande longueur en toute sécurité.
