Update: Photo of Skillet Breakfast Dish added. This skillet cooks and bakes great from the very first use! I cook and bake extensively, all of our meals are eaten at home with food I prepare. I love cooking and baking in cast iron, and needed an additional cast iron 8 inch lid. Also wanted to add an 8 inch cast iron skillet with dual loop handles to my cookware, primarily for baking. Lodge is the only cast iron brand I will purchase. Very happy with this 8 inch cast iron skillet! - Comes pre-seasoned so good to use as soon as you receive it. - Outstanding quality. Heavy duty and durable. Fantastic even heat retention. - The dual loop handles are both comfortable and easy to grab. The handles are particularly helpful when baking with the skillet. Much easier to get the skillet into and out of the oven with 2 handles to grab. - Fantastic for both cooking and baking. Easily fits in my Breville Smart Oven Pro Countertop Oven with plenty of room to spare. - The high quality and versatility of this cast iron skillet makes it a terrific value. It will last a lifetime! I highly recommend this product.

Great depth and single person size. Can be hand washed, just put oil on a paper towel and wipe it down to protect it and prevent rust. Great for cornish hen, shrimp, veggies, single serve dinner. Use on grill frequently because I don't have a stove or oven to cook. Double handles are much better for the grill space and two broken wrists. Non-stick spray and high heat grape seed oil are very helpful with cast iron. Doesn't put off gas like Teflon dangerous to pet birds.

Amazing! Scrambled eggs with cheese did not stick to it! And superb heat distribution. Just give it a little time at a lower setting like a minute or so and then gradually increase the heat. No problems with cheddar cheese even at 300° setting. It didn't stick. Please remember not to put this in the dishwasher. And wash it and make sure you dry it thoroughly when you finish washing it don't let it sit there. Today I found out that somebody who has several of these pots and pans put it in their dishwasher and wonders why it isn't pretty much non-stick. So even though it says it's pre-seasoned, when I got it I put a little bit of avocado oil in it and smeared it around with a paper towel making sure I covered every inch of it and then put it on my induction stove ha a low temperature, 200° for five minutes then 260 for a minute and then 340° for about an hour. The next day I cooked scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, ham, onions, jalapeños, and potatoes. I co those at 300°. It cleaned up easily with nothing sticking to it a sponge did it all in for most of it I didn't even need to use the sponge. And don't just take it from high heat and then put cold water on it. Just stick it on the counter and let it cool down or keep it on your stove and let it cool down on its own. I don't want anyone to get the impression that these are temperamental. They're not. With simple care these pots literally last and get passed on through generations. Mine did.

like all Lodge cast iron pots and pans it comes with a fairly rough cooking surface . I used a small sander and smoothed it up in about 15 minutes . It is just the right size for 1 or 2 people . I like it !!!

With the matching lid, this is a great set I would recommend to everyone who appreciates not eating chemical non-stick coatings. As my Mom and I have been doing for 60 years, I washed both pieces with dish detergent, heated them up on the stove top to ensure they were dry and then, while still pretty hot, wiped them down with grapeseed oil (olive oil has gotten too expensive to use on pans). After they cooled off a bit, I cooked eggs. They slid around in this pan as if on glass! This was the first day I received the pan! This morning I made a tortilla egg sandwich. I cooked the mushrooms first, then the egg. I put a thin flour tortilla in the pan, added the cooked egg and mushrooms and folded the tortilla over. It fit perfectly in the pan. I browned it on one side, then the other. It browned beautifully and made a great breakfast with some salsa verde I made yesterday. Then I toasted buckwheat which I use in salads. It's always been a pain toasting just a little buckwheat, but now it was so easy. I toasted 1/4 cup in olive oil and with the lid on, the buckwheat didn't fly everywhere when it was popping. It's a small pan, but I'm on a diet and this little pan helps me with portion control. I have many Lodge products dating from 1960. My pans are so worn, nothing sticks to them. They're better than any non-stick pan you can buy today. That said, I ordered the 8" dual handle frying pan and 8" lid. They both arrived today, 5/20/2024. The pan is great. The matching lid, however, had a defect on one edge. There was clumped on iron, the black finish flaked off and the lid was wider there than the other edges. It didn't sit right. I was surprised that Lodge would allow a defective product to be shipped to a customer. Within minutes, I processed a return and replacement. I will have the new lid tomorrow. In the end, I'm grateful Lodge is still in business and their products aren't made in China. If they were, I wouldn't be buying Lodge. Thank you Amazon for supporting Prime members even if Lodge doesn't. I will be an Amazon member until the day I die and maybe even thereafter😊💕

i wish i bought this before buying the single handle cast iron. the other single handle one i bought elsewhere. but this one is my go-to! came already seasoned straight out of the box, seems like legit cast iron, havent had weird things happen that make me question its quality. i think its good value for money and forgot to mention cooking time much better than my other pan. i rhink its because this one is slightly thinner. i season my pan oftenly because i have bad habit of scrubbing really hard and use tons of detergent. otherwise, im sure it would not need that much frequent seasoning.

This little pan is great for making small amount of sauteed vegetables, scrambled eggs and stir fried foods. The quality no doubt is really good and will last a lifetime.

Beautiful pan..I use it everyday now. It's small but perfect for eggs or deep frying without using too much oil
