Bahco 625-Pear Carbide Edged Scraper Blade

Very easy to slacken of to the other two faces..I have used these scraper blades with the handle for years in coach restoration and this is the scraper I use to remove paint, varnish etc.

A wonderful attachment that did EXACTLY what I wanted it to. I had a 135 year old mahogany moulding to clean of old paint and French polish on a restoration job. This fitted the curve of the moulding to a T and did a marvellous job. The only drawback I see is that whilst the handle for this shape can also take the triangular shaper one has to splash out on a whole new handle to get the 2 inch flat bar scraper by the same people.

Why show this misleading add showing 3 blades when only one is being sold, the is misleading deception, and I am sure against trading standards rule. Obviously I am not the only person to be confused by this add looking at the reviews. Having said all this the scraper is very good.

It might seem steep, paying £8 for a tiny bit of metal, but this is superb. It really cuts into the old paint and varnish and doesn't seem to loose its edge. It takes a little practice to find the best edge and angle for different profiles of moulding, but now, with the help of this and the straight-edged triangular blade for the flat bits, our oak front door is looking superb.

I am female in my eighties and bought this in the hope that I could manage to scrape polyurethane varnish from my wood block hall floor. So far I have only done a small area but the results are amazing very little effort required, I intend to do the job in stages. Particularly like unlike sanding there is no dust.

I ordered this thinking I was getting three pieces for the bacho. (I only got one piece and not the one I wanted). Found the ad very misleading. Be careful if you invest and remember, you are only getting one piece and they don’t even list the one I really wanted…just had it in the pic so I thought it was a set of three. Very disappointed.

Non tutti gli artigiani e gli hobbisti sanno che cosa si può fare con un raschietto che ha una lama di questo tipo! Provate a raschiettare un muro pitturato con con una buona pittura perchè si devono eliminare gocce di colatura o altre irregolarità con un normale raschietto di acciaio! Poichè una buona pittura (magari al quarzo) contiene polveri al suo interno con una durezza superiore a quella dell'acciaio appariranno sul muro strisce di colore grigio argenteo che la successiva mano di pittura non riuscirà a coprire. Questo non succede con raschietti al carburo di tungsteno Bacho in quanto la loro durezza (9 nella scala di Mohs)è superiore a quella del quarzo (7 nella scala di Mohs). Questo è uno dei tanti esempi di cosa può fare una lama cun queste caratteristiche e che mantiene a lungo l'affilatura. Sono abbastanza stupito dal fatto che pochi artigiani conoscano le caratteristiche di questo attrezzo. Il costo è elevato ma ne vale veramente la spesa!
