Klein Tools CL445 HVAC Clamp Meter, Auto-Ranging TRMS, NCVT, Measures Voltage, Current, Temperature, Micro Amps, InRush and More

As a pro I was a Fluke guy, but as a DIYer, I didn’t need to go that big when my 15yo meter bit the dust. Klein had great reviews so I gave it a shot when I needed something to diagnose my AC unit. Seems well built, has all the features I need and then some. Hard to beat for the price an comes with a nice storage pouch and thorough instructions.

Solid middle-ground meter, no complaints

So far, this is a great tool. Does what I need it to do for a good price. I use mainly for household work, however.

Works good but feels cheap

This device works very well for checking electric and troubleshooting things. I have used it on a couple of jobs, including checking capacitors and checking for shorts. I’ve used it on the car as well and doing other electrical work sometimes very happy with it so far no problems would definitely recommend buying

Been looking at a clamp meter for some time. Didn’t no which one would be a good buy. Watched several videos and this one seemed the best for me. Used it for some electric work on my house, doing some wiring for a portable generator and putting in a soft start on ac unit. Came with a nice case and some test leads and batteries. For the price and functions it works for what I need it for.

Purchase this because I recently installed a Generac generator and I wanted to be able to take readings on my air conditioning system and my generator as well as other appliances from time to time. I also do some minor electrical work around the house and often need to do continuity tests and other AC and DC testing. I will also be attending the Generac University generator technicians course to run a side hustle business maintaining generators so this is perfect for me but it is definitely more than anyone who is just a standard homeowner will ever need. If you want a high quality tool still then I highly recommend this because you should never need another tool as long as it keeps working. Really nice padded case comes with it also which is different from every low end $35 and under meter I have ever purchased. If higher end accuracy in your readings is something that's extremely important then it's worth the money. My Harbor Freight Tools higher end version of their product does not read the same as this. The HFT gauge reads about two amps higher when clamped to the same wire.

I bought this as it serves a couple of purposes. Mainly I use it to check the inrush current on both outside HVAC units before and after soft starts being added. It also serves as a nice DMM.

Works good, the alligator clamps it comes with to attach to the leads are loose so they fall off if you pull on them at all, other than that no complaints
