Exceptional product
I've had this for a few years and didn't think to review it, just noticed while reviewing a recent purchase. It is a fantastic gadget, it really works and is far superior to the fire's you can buy. Before this I went through several fires, they don't last long. I have only had to buy one of these! Exceptional product, kept me warm though several difficult winters. Perfect for use with a cheap stove and more economical than a fire

Just the job for my van.
It works, I'm pleasantly surprised. I slightly modified the base to fit my capervan hob nice and sturdy. Easy 3 minutes with a pair of pliers. Turned the gas on full was 4 degrees hotter in a few minutes. Turned it down to low and it held the heat steady at a cosy 19.6 degrees. Much, much cheaper than a gas fire to run. I cook in the van and the carbon monoxide meter didn't show any increase above usual. ( your risk indoors on this one) get a meter! Heat drains from unit after a few minutes of no gas but I still wouldn't touch it. Overall a great alternative to expensive campervan gas heaters and cleaner than a woodburner.

A "never camp without"/wow/must have/use with caution item
I write this review with the full knowledge that there are going to be a lot of finger wagging judgment but YES! I do use this item in my tent. I've used this in a 3, a 2 and a 5 person dome tent, and also a 2 berth caravan and a 2 berth motorhome. If you're a person that turns off these types of stoves using the dial and not the "engage/disengage gas canister lever" then I don't recommend buying or using this item... The gas stoves all suffer from slow leaking gas from the can-when you don't disengage the lever so its THE WAY THE STOVE IS USED IN THE TENT... together with any lack of ventilation that should be key in whether to get this item. Also a big no is back packers tent less than 3man ...tent's too small to use safely. If you DO turn off your stoves via the lever using this in a well vented tent on a secure flat stand... This is safe safe safe and Jesus Christ it pumps out heat! I've not needed to use it for longer than 5 mins on half power in my dome tents because it works identically to a terracotta pot heater (Google/search engine "terracotta pot heater" if you don't know what they are). Now the negatives... condensation it's unavoidable, freezing air outside meeting water vapoured area (all beings do ...its in your breath!) equals condensation so I used this with condensation traps in the tent or caravan. The heater takes that freezing air sting right out so that I could turn on heater ..."disengage lever" ;-) and get snuggled into my sleeping bag, and wake up happy. When I woke...if I was in a freezing caravan or tent -on it went, and the plus was I could cook on top of it!...I didn't have to chose "heater or cooking" or "heater or a cuppa" I could do both. As per my photos, I used this on a folding bedside breakfast table (yes in my tent! -away from flammables). My plus as a caution would be to have a carbon monoxide detector ...one that works of batteries (the batteries that can take freezing temperatures). It used 1 can, Fri/Sat/Sun use ... Before bed and in the morning before the sun hit my hits my tent (once sun hit my tent - the sun was the tent or caravan heater ;-) ) I'm a happy camper indeed.

Simple and best of all it works
I have to admit, I was sceptical this product would work, how wrong, was I . It’s basically a large baked bean can with the bottom and side slots cut out. I use it in a 8x6 hut, doesn’t take long to heat the air up. For £11 it’s a no brainer.

Not for camping really
Package box was wet and dirty, fortunetly no rust on the product. If you are thinking you can cook on top of it, forget it. You could heat up the water but it wont boil, in addition thbe top is very slippery so I dont think its designed for that purpose. The heater does not 'glow' red uless you are burning maximum which wont last you long and is not efficient. Evem then only bottom will heat up. Overall not sure if its real product, could be acopy which will explain why its not very efficient. Most of the heat goes out through it and is wasted escaping to the top insfead of the idea of going to the sides. In a windy place this wont heat you up if you sit right next to it. So if you want to use it it needs to be in enclosed area. But with enough head room as heat escapes through the top and enough ventilation,as we kmow burning will create co2. This limits the use greatly. As if you are camping you either outside or inside of the tent and neither is good for this. It could be used in improvised shelter like a cave, of course if cabe does not have flamable gases or liqiuds nearby. Its beeter than fire place because it does not produce smoke, but it creates co2. In theory you could heat it up and then bring it to the tent when its off but that will give heat only for few minutes as there is very little mass. Overall. Not recomeded as per limited application. Waste of fuel. If you cold make yourself some tea or wear proper clothes. This wont heat you up amd its dangerous to use in tents. I will modify this myself to make it more efficient.
