Sondergut Backgammon Black

This was one of two roll up travel boards I found on this platform that looked decent. All other roll up travel chess games cost over $90 on Etsy, and while they look beautiful this one works just the same. Plus it’s small as heck. It rolls up as small as those travel artist cases that holds pens and whatnot. Quality is great. The suede fabric feels premium and so do the button enclosures. They don’t feel like they’ll break anytime soon. The white squares on the actual board look painted on, like if they might peel in the future judging by other reviews, but I don’t see that happening any time soon. If it does I’ll update the review. Either way, this is worth the money. Feels like an $80 item rather than a $35 item (what I paid). It’s ALMOST perfect. If the board was magnetized it would be 100% perfect - hopefully they make a magnetized version but that may be wishful thinking. This is perfect for travel. We use it occasionally on date night when we go to a local lounge because we can sit at a private table and play. Definitely taking this during plane travels and other trips. Makes a great gift for fellow chess/checkers lovers. I do wish it came with extra pieces, but for now it’s great.

Love this backgammon set and keep it in my purse whenever we go out for date night or while traveling. It is well-made and a pleasure to use.

This is perfect! The only small criticism is the pieces are veryyyyy small and slick, so they often fall off and roll far. Not a big deal, but leather pieces or another material would be better for the pieces instead of slick plastic.

Love this little set and will be perfect for travel, long times of waiting around at work, and nature/beach days. The only thing I wish was a little studier might be the zipper, but I JUST got it and that is a first impression. I'm just gonna be careful with it and it should be fine. Overall though, the quality, the suede leather, and the build are all wonderful. The chips are also really great too. Heavy for their size and remind me of my dad's nice set. If you're looking for a great portable set, I'd look no further than this one!

It’s a great game. Easy to make friends anywhere with backgammon. Perfect for camping/family travel. Lightweight. Flexible real suede can squeeze in almost anywhere. This will pack better for us than a standard leather case. Sophisticated travel accessory. Matches nicely with other high end travel gear.

perfect size. good handfeel. fits easily in the water bottle pocket of my backpack or in the door of my car. pips are a good size and roll into board. board is weighted enough to lay flat without staying curled, even after long periods of not playing. pip-pocket at end of board is a little awkward if you're not on a completely flat surface, but it was worth the purchase.
