Rock Face Shower Gel - Original All In One Body Wash for Men, 410ml, Fresh Citrus Scent, Suitable for Hair and Body, Long Lasting Fragrance

I love this shower gel and usually buy a few at a time. It smells really good with a fresh citrus scent, but isn’t overpowering. Unlike a lot of other shower gels, it doesn’t dry my skin out and leaves me feeling clean and refreshed all day. Great value, great quality, and one I keep coming back to.

it’s good, good fragrance, lathers well enough. size means it can last a while, only issue it’s the quality of packaging, unfortunately i’ve had many that turn up with the lid partly screwed or opened, meaning it’s spilt out, otherwise good

Best shower gel. Lasts well. Does the cleaning thing. Smells nicer than other stuff. Got nothing else. I’m just a normal man.

I love Rock Face product and this one is no exception. Great value for money, a little goes along way. Nice scent and cleans skin well. Been using this product for about a year, and I keep buying it, guess that says it all really.

Smells amazing

Packaging and marketing very appealing highlighting the recycling green credentials with the bottle looking decent in the bathroom however lets discuss the substance knowing that this review is entirely subjective based on how I liked the fragrance and whether it performed as an out and out all over body wash (including being used as a shampoo as described in the Amazon description). I previously bought the "Refined" deodorant version of Rock Face from a local supermarket so decided to give this "original" shower gel fragrance a try after seeing it available on an Amazon spring deal offer. It mentions its an "all over" body wash including being used as a shampoo so on first use decided to leave my usual shampoo on the shelf. The first thing I noticed was obviously the fragrance with this original version having woody musky tones with hints of pine - no real out and out freshness of citrus but pleasant all the same although my partner suggested it reminded her of a type of fragrance not lost on her dad before going out on a family meal. I don't think the fragrance lasts very long so whether you love it or dislike it, it won't linger for too long during the day - personally I still prefer the "refined" version for fragrance as this feels, to me, more energised and sporty. * Aftershave quality scent? - I'd say certainly an aftershave type scent but not from a quality perspective (most cheaper aftershaves market the musk, citrus, fresh theme). * Premium thick formula? - yes agreed, the gel lathers very quickly into quite a thick mass on the flanel allowing for generous application before final rinse. I'd say this is one of the products better qualities as you do get a sense of a proper all over body wash with the fragrance being well retained after a thorough rinse but lost not too long into the day. * Kind to skin? - probably too early to tell as I've only started using this gel recently however I do have fairly sensitive skin (I often use simple products with no fragrance additives so this is new territory for me but so far no skin irritations to report). Not too kind on hair however - as a shampoo I found the ingredients very harsh concerning my hair type so I will always use a seperate shampoo but everyone has different hair types so this is purely a personal observation (my hair was left sticking out a bit and difficult to groom properly after the shower). * Pioneering formula? - well we just have to take the manufacturers word for that one - sounds very marketing blurb. * Rock Face a proudly independent British Brand - Nice to see it's made in the UK so there is a little patiotism at the point of sale but the statement was never going to be a serious deal maker. My conclusions: On a deal this 410ml gives decent value for money in that you have a clear idea of what you are going to get at a fair price. I would always take a bottle of shampoo along as I wouldn't use this product exclusively as part of my daily shower routine however would understand people taking it to the gym without the need to take extra bottles after a hard workout. Would I buy this again? Yes probably but trying a different fragrance and certainly not at RRP. A generous Amazon offer or deal promotion is about the right price point as I don't see any real premium beyond many of the other male grooming products out there on the shelves. Note: A challenging subjective review on something that is personal to both reviewer and reader as you cannot test, sense, feel or smell in advance of making the purchase. 3/5 is the best I can come up with.
