A great outdoor kitchen knife and and very good edc knife
Its a great kitchen knife and outdoor kitchen knife that is very slicy, sharp knife once it has a 15 degree edge on it. I think mine came in at around 17.5 degrees. With vg 10 steel with new profile it cuts great. I don't have a problem carrying it as a edc knife cutting up boxes with this knife as it sharpens up so easy. wish it came with a belt holder which I did get one for it and it makes it a better all purpose edc with a big blade. with the big belly and a high handle cutting veggies fruit and using it as a steak knife is not a problem. I do use wooden plates for steak. all I have done to keep it sharp for the last 4 months is a quick touch up on a 3000 ceramic rod and if it needs a little more refining I'll use the 2500 grit ceramic spyderco stone and strop with 2 micron diamond paste. when Im outdoors I carry this knife with one of many edc knives I have just because I like this knife to carry on my belt. Its lightweight and comfortable in the hand. worth every dollar.

Great knife
I have been looking for this knife for many years. A folder, with a thin blade, designed solely for kitchen work. I love knives and have high standards. This knife achieves it intended purpose beautifully. The geometry of the whole knife is wonderful. The blade geometry chops and slices beautifully. The blade has resistance to opening by accident. The button lock works great. The construction is simple and sturdy. The g10 is grippy even covered in fats and oils. It is perfect for traveling. I bought 2 and will probably buy more. Very, very well done folding kitchen blade. Edit: I just got back from a week fishing in Sarasota. I used this both the small and large versions of this knife. I made ceviche, salads, prepared fresh fish, and a lot of other snacks and veggie trays for my family. I also used the blades to chop up fish carcasses to be used as chum and bait chunks. I purposely cut through heads, spines, tails to test the durability of the blade. These knives are excellent. They handle like Japanese knives like santokus and gyutos. After a week of chopping I steeled the blade and stropped it. It still shaves hair. There is zero edge damage and no flat spots. The vg-10 heat treat is spot on. The blade is tough enough to chop fish carcasses and not chip and yet still retain a hair popping edge after a week of heavy use. FINALLY, a great folding chef knife for traveling. Keep the new models coming Tacray, I'll try every one!

Better than I evet imagined
I've been using this knife for more than one year now. Oddly, it has become one of my most used knives. I sat oddly because when I bought it I didn't predict how much I would like this knife. I don't use it as a general EDC knife. It's main use is food prep, meat slicing, and light camp tasks. I smoke and BBQ weekly year round and that's where this knife shines for me. I can trim briskets with it pre smoking, chop garlic and onions, slice veggies, or anything else cooking related. It's not made of made of m390 or 15v so it's nit going to cut for 6 months without touching up, but the edge holds for a few food sessions and touches up very easily on a ceramic rod or strop. That's perfectly fine with me. The blade is fairly thin so it slices just fine through food. I put a 15º per side edge on it and it performs as well as any of my dedicated kitchen knives. The handle design is such that there is plenty of knuckle clearance when cutting so you can use the entire blade on a cutting board without your knuckles getting in the way. It is build like a true food knife. The obvious benefit of this thing is that it's a folding knife so when you're cooking outdoors you can just fold it and stick it in your apron or jeans pocket safely. It's very handy in that way. One of the best features is the button lock. This thing is designed like a spyderco compression lock, but wit a button. The lock is one of it's best features. I really like it a lot. Rust resistance is important in a knife like this. I'll be honest and tell you that im not alway quick to clean it. I often leave it for hours with meat and vegetable juices on it. I always clean it, but it's often at the end of the day. I have had zero issues with corrosion. Im sure it will rust, but you really have to abuse it. Don't abuse your knives. Overall im absolutely thrilled with this knife. I would be even if it were $100+, but it's not. This is one of the best "bang for your buck" knives I own. And lastly.... I've never claimed to be the brightest bulb. It took me months to realize that I can use the thumb hole as a bottle opener. I have no idea if that was an intentional design or not. But it works and I don't have to carry around a separate bottle opener now for beenlrs at the cookout. Just use it with the knife folded, not with the blade extended. Tacray hit it out of the park with this knife.

Worth the money
Deducting one star for the pivot. Will not gravity open. Not a very good one hand opening experience either. The lock is sturdy and the blade is well aligned. Not the best for chopping larger vegetables like potatoes and onions because of the length but I should have picked the bigger one. That's on me. As for the steel. It seems to have pretty good edge retention. I've never owned vg10 before so i couldn't tell you if it is 100% legitimate, but It seems to be good quality. The factory edge isn't the best, pretty middling. I would put a new edge on it if I were you. This goes for most knives you buy. Even from high quality brands the factory edges are pretty meh.

Tac cHef knife
this knife is super big and very spicy with and amazing top liner cross bar lock which I barely see on knives that are sub 100 dollars. This knife for the price is great and comparable to the cold steel voyager line up. It will make a great chef knife if that's your thing but this would also be great for tactical purposes. The lock Is a bit stiff but will break in over time and become easier to open. Also the look of this knifes g10 scales look really nice and feel really good too.
