Just installed today. I had to dremmel the grips just a bit, but installation is straightforward. It looks good and fits tightly. Nice addition to your 1911.

Works just fine fit Colt Commander single stack no problem easy install looks good quality not bad for price !

Fits well and stays tight. Only drawback is you need to cut a 1/16” recess in each grip to have your grip panels sit flush. My solution was a packmire finger groove grip that is held on by the grip panels. I just cut the mag well triangles into the rubber grip.

Makes easygoing to reload

When compared to my other 1911’s with aftermarket parts and also compared to an IPSEC race gun I own, this part is undersized…. It will fit the grip correctly and allow the mag to enter the mag well of the grip…. The point I’m making is that the manufacture could have allowed a little more metal for wider size that would increase the flare of the inner funneling slopes…. It helps but for a pinch more they could have copied Wilson Combat or other designs and made it a wider of a funnel for the magazine to find.. This is especially the case for the back side ot the inner void…. Steep slope instead of a mor medium slope for funneling the mag into the pistol’s mag well…. It’s …. OK ….. but I bought a similar product years ago that was a Wilson Combat part clone which was much better for a similar price.. This product cheated on material and the shortage is expressed in smaller substandard beveled mag well opening.. Note the pic….. far left is the product, middle is an aftermarket Wilson Combat clone I purchased years ago which I was looking for, and on the right Wilson Combat flat mainspring housing with beveled mag well…

These magwells are super. I have bought, let’s say several, and they function perfectly. They are relatively low, but the always guide the magazine home, and allow the use on regular mags with a modest rubber pad, which you want anyway. Highly recommended. They may require the grips to be shaved a bit since they wrap around the grip lugs, but this is easy, and fast, if needed. Designed for all standard 1911’s. Not suitable for 2011’s for obvious reasons.
