Great security camera, good quality pictures, easy to install, Would recommend

This is the second of these cameras that I have fitted. I am very pleased with them both. They are easy to set up and connect to the phone , Alexa automatically connects once the phone is set up. Physically fixing them to an outside wall is fairly easy as the bracket only needs four holes drilling in the wall but the two screws that fix the camera to the bracket are very small and fiddly to fit. There is quite a high probability that one or both will be dropped whilst trying to insert them. The video is very clear, the built in floodlight is quite bright and the infra red night vision works well. The sound quality is not perfect but completely acceptable. Movement sensing and tracking are excellent. All in all a great camera and well worth the price.

Bought as an upgrade to a previous camera this is excellent for the price. App is very good, well worth paying the subscription for cloud storage. My threenimou cameras have recordings for seven days for less than £10 a month. You can rotate these and track and they have excellent features in the app. Easy to setup I have.mine mains powered and connected via ethernet. Highly recomennded.

Update For some reason I cant get it to tilt downwards sufficiently, but it will tilt up enough to film the sky! So logically I thought turn unit other way up to enable good downward view - except image is now upside down. This is last straw for ne with this piece of cheaply made Chinese rubbish. More plastic for the recycling bin. The only thing in its favour, the images are clear, it captures most events (but not all - something happened which caused pot plants to be scattered across a wide area and a large bin to be knocked over, but the camera didn't record it.) On the minus side, and its a big one, although there is the option to use your own memory card rather than subscribe to Imou's service, I did the 7 day trial of it, and whereas all the recordings on subscription service are shown on the home page, they make accessing the recordings on your card awkward and unintuitive, only one recording is shown on the home page - you have to press the two dots beneath this single recording in order to get the menu with option to view all recordings), its impossible to delete old ones or ones you dont need, nor can you apply a setting like only keep previous 7 days recordings, with the result your memory card soon fills up - pretty sure this is done to make people give up and subscribe. Tantamount to blackmail imho. I hate this kind of deliberate bad programming in order to frustrate customers who havent forked out for their subscription service. I will be selling this, and buying a different company's camera - one which doesn't have subscriptions, and performs as promised without one.- and likely solar powered too. I am unlikely to buy an IMOU product again.

I initially purchased the Imou 2K outdoor camera for my garden and was so impressed by its performance that I ordered a second one for my front door shortly after. The image quality is excellent, and the setup was straightforward. The first camera has been running flawlessly from day one. However, the second camera had connectivity issues from the start, frequently going offline and sometimes failing to load entirely. Despite troubleshooting and keeping the firmware up to date, the problem persisted. I reached out to Imou's customer service, and they quickly responded with helpful advice. When it became clear that the issue was likely due to a fault with the camera, they arranged a replacement without any hassle. The replacement camera has been flawless and performs just as well as my original one, restoring my confidence in the product. Imou’s after-sales support was exceptional, handling my concerns promptly and professionally, which truly makes a difference. I am incredibly pleased with both the camera's performance and Imou's excellent customer service. Highly recommended if you're looking for reliable security cameras with a brand that stands behind its products!

They have sensibly added ONVIF compatibility, so works with other systems such as digital DVR's. They have sensibly added a ethernet port as decent WiFI reach outside is often difficult, so why not have added POE, so that you only have to run one cable. You already have the ethernet socket! Plus the power cable supplied is nowhere near long enough - but don't use that anymore - see below! June 2025 Have upped my rating to five stars - Have quite a few of these cameras now and are connected to own NVR Network Video Recorder, which allows easy recording and no lag. The app gives portable viewing and intruder detection. The app has got lot better, including easily changing the password, what it really needs is two more bits of information displayed: Local IP address and MAC address- with this information installation would be 10 times easier and quicker when used with an NVR. Still need an option to have POE (Power Over Ethernet) built in, then life would be really easy! Currently having to use a converter that spits out the 12v from the POE and outputs on the power jack to plug in. Works, but more expense and hassle. Not having an optical zoom, is not as bad as you think, as the resolution is high enough to zoom in without too much pixilation. Plus of course keeps the cost down, plus a fixed lens is nearly always sharper with a better aperture (better low light) than a zoom one. Have some optical CCTV cameras and most of the time they stay at a fixed zoom, and of course can't be altered at playback! Definitely a product that is improving - so take older reviews with a pinch of salt as they say!
