30 Minute Artist: Painting Water in Watercolour

I gave this lovely watercolour book 5 stars as it does what it says on the cover. Lots of simple step by step exercies on painting water, waves, rocks and sand, in fact every thing you need for a competent watercolor. By taking 30 minutes out, you can really improve your technique. You will also get a great sense of achievement after completing quick exercises. I Its main selling point is that it is easy to follow and would not overwhelm beginning watercolourists. All too often, painting books can be too daunting for a begginer. I would recommend this book for beginners upwards. This is because there are little tips that experienced watercolourists may not have heard of. It is also a compact size for a reference book.

There are so many hints on how to paint in a good way and plenty of pictures, in steps, it is a very helpful book. Recommended.

I had my doubts that you could do a painting in 30 mins, but then bob Ross does an oil painting of 24in-48in in 30 mins.

I bought this for reference for when I'm painting outdoors. Useful guide to have for techniques.

Eine wirklich umfassende Sammlung aller Arten von Wasser, wie sie in Aquarell einfach in kurzer Zeit gemalt werden können. Ich verwende dieses Buch nicht zum Nachmalen - wobei es dafür gedacht ist. Der Autor bietet auch in seinem Shop eigene Farbmischungen und Pinsel an, die in der Anleitung auch angegeben sind, wodurch das Versprechen, die Bilder in 30 min malen zu können, gewiss einlösbar ist. Alles bereit stellen, einen Kübel Wasser z.B., um nicht Wasser tauschen zu müssen, und die Uhr läuft ... Das kann für jene, die nach einem anstrengenden Arbeitstag beim Aquarellieren entspannen wollen, eine gute Option sein. Ich sehe mir seine Lösung bei einer entsprechenden Aufgabenstellung an und male dann mein eigenes Motiv. Darüber hinaus liest man bei Harrison eine ganze Menge praktische Tipps aus der Werkstatt, sehr brauchbar! Das Buch hält, was es verspricht, daher 5 Sterne.
