No.8 Opinel Stainless Steel Olive handle
My favourite brand of pocket knife. A simple functional blade in an attractive form. After I managed to bend the tip of my previous No8 Opinel after 30 years of use I decided to treat myself to an olive wood variant. Its beautiful, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Barely sharp & Possibly damaged.
Nowhere near as good as my old one! This “New” one is barely sharp and the tip is rough as though it has been damaged or dropped. The size is ideal for me just what I needed. But £20 for this knife was far too much money. If it was as good as my old one I would have been happy but as this one needs a good sharpening it’s a bit of a rip off!

Very sharp and resilient
Brilliantly sharp, be very careful with it though as I stupidly slipped (very stupidly cutting towards myself) and quite deeply cut open my thumb, haven’t had to sharpen it yet and I’ve been cutting branches and shaving wood with it, amazing product.

Tin eats recommended this traditional French pocket knife, but it's more than a cheese and picnic knife. There is a locking ring so it is safe to use for rope and things like that. You can buy a pocket/belt holder for it but you don't need it as it folds away nicely and securely. I bought olive wood as that is best for more moist/humid conditions where I live but there is a range of handles you can select from. There is also a range of sizes, but I believe this is the most functional and a good pocket size unless you have a specific need, like yachting or something, in which case you would buy a holder to clip on your belt I suppose. .
