H&G Anvil 3 kg

This is a bit of a rough diamond but works very well, nice weight 3KG so stores out the way with little effort, good size top at 112mm x 65 mm the height is 94mm the horn is 38mm wide and 50mm long came waxed and a little rough on top of the horn also painted, I wanted to use the horn for riveting straps so I used a file to take off the rough seem and removed paint, gave the anvil a good rub down with white spirit and seald top with Liberton lubricating wax which stops rust but will not come off on work pices. Great tool ready for a lot of work which makes the price ok.

The horn has a bit of a casting ridge which I will grind down, but the flat face is perfect for normal use. I saw another review that said the anvil weighed about 2.5 Kg but my digital kitchen scales assessed it to be 2.990 Kg.

Small but ideal for those little jobs where you need to tap or hammer something metal and need a hard surface to rest it on. No more dents and scratches on my wooden workbench.

I use this anvil primarily for light planishing of saw-plates. It has a properly machined flat surface & is proportioned well for this task. Good value.

Mine weighed 2.7kg rather than the 3kg advertised but its not too much of a difference. I use it as a steady base for leather punching and for this it has served me well.

It looks ok but after a little use the top is pretty pockmarked. Needs to be harder ideally.

Just what I needed and I love that it is multi-functional. I only need it for hammering on but Mr W. E. coyote has demonstrated the range that this item potentially has. Do let us have an update on your progress.

Hatte ihn mir zugelegt um die Panzerkettenglieder vom Leopard2 (Modellbau) zu vernieten. Absolute Kaufempfehlung. Das Ding ist ordentlich schwer und erfüllt die Erwartungen absolut. Und als ich die Winterreifen von meinem Benz wechseln wollte gingen sie nicht von der Nabe los. Mit dem zweckentfremdeten Amboss hab ich alle 4 abgekloppt.....sorry,hatte nix anderes. Er hat noch nicht mal nen Kratzer abbekommen. Klare Kaufempfehlung....

A veces quieres dar algún martillazo o golpe en alguna pieza de metal o muy dura, y no puedes hacerlo en un banco de madera porque se hunde la madera, o sobre el suelo porque rompes el azulejo, y no encuentras ningún sitio apropiado en casa. Esto te salvará del apuro. Lo compré para enderezar algunas tijeras y es muy práctico, es pequeño y apenas ocupa sitio. El precio podrían ajustarlo un poco más para lo que es, pero lo bueno y duradero al final es barato. Es la versión de un solo cuerno como en la foto, que sirve para doblar pequeñas piezas de metal.
