Excellent game as long as you find a decent server to play on (see detail for suggestion)
This is the best game of 2017/18. The options in gameplay are incredible, and will keep you entertained for hundreds, if not thousands of hours. The best way to describe it is a combination of mine craft, CoD and Far Cry. The only downside is that the official PVP servers are ruined by huge alpha tribes. However, I found a great unofficial PC server called "Free UK Ark server". You can search for this on the "Join" screen. It has some boosts to XP and taming which really helps in the game. In summary, whether you are playing solo or in a tribe, this game is worth every single penny. Enjoy

Best game in to world to me I have played it almost every day sins I got it and I am now the king on the server you get to tame animal build where ever and what ever you want and get to breed Dino's to insane levels tame water Dino's and have wars on pve and PvP it's a long road on the PvP side of things. There are weekly events like X2 tame and gather and from time to time X2 breeding it dose not go on so much now as it did back then but from time to time it comes back and I love it and with all the holidays having the on event on ark you get some crazy looking Dino's that are one of a kind that only you have so yeah get the game.

Fantastic game
Great game, at times there are the odd glitches and bugs. But I really enjoy this game. Sometimes it can be quite scary to play and other times can make you a little angry. Playing on servers are good, however there is not many servers. Americans keep joining the European servers. Other players can be quite irritating, constantly killing you, destroying your bases etc. It’s fun to form a tribe though. Single player mode is not as fun compared to online. But at least you can make progress.

Still an unfinished game 1 year later!
I played this on my Xbox One X in game preview over a year ago. It was buggy, had poor frame rate and needed a lot of work, but it was fun and the idea was a great one. So I thought now it had finally been finished and the price had for some reason jumped to that of an AAA rated title, it would now be the great game that it should be. Unfortunately I was wrong, the idea and concept of this game is a licence to print money. It is a fantastic concept, a detailed survival game with dinosaurs and being able to upgrade your tech from rocks to guns, whats not to like? The graphics on Xbox One X are that of the first generation of games, I would even go as far as almost xbox 360 graphics. Screen tearing, blurry and pixelated scenery. A frame rate which drops to unplayable at certain points. I would not even go near this game if you don't own an Xbox one X as it barely even runs on the Xbox One core machine. They have had a year and it still looks the same as it did when I played it in 2017, it has then somehow been released as a finished game and been slapped with a silly price tag. I appreciate there is a small team developing this game, but they seem more focused on releasing paid DLC rather than fixing the core issues of the game. How this got released as finished code I will never know, its a buggy, glitchy mess with frustrating gameplay. Wait until its in the bargain bin, or another year before they finish it before buying. The only thing it has going for is its charm and overall appealing concept. On paper it sounds amazing, but the reality is an unfinished, disappointing mess. **Edit** I have actually been playing for a few days and despite the frustration, I am actually enjoying this. I still do not agree that the quality is there yet or that the price is acceptable. But I am starting to see the appeal. I have now revised my review to 3 stars.

I’m hooked...
Minecraft with guns and dinosaurs! I’ve been playing for a couple of weeks now and am still enjoying it. I do like a game with little in the way of instructions and no clear objective (yup, I also play Elite: Dangerous) so this has proved to be a little addictive. It is a little buggy but what game isn’t these days? There’s quite a lot of terrain “pop up” and I’ve witnessed the larger dinosaurs getting stuck behind trees occasionally (perhaps that’s why they’re extinct) but I’m rather enjoying it. I haven’t investigated PVP yet so can’t comment on that aspect.

Tough but rewarding.
Very tough game to play first time. Massive learning curve and not much help in tutorial but very rewarding as you can play and do what you want to do in the game world. You will die and respawn a lot at first but single playing is great place to train and learn.
