Quite a lot of money for what it is but does work well and enables good end results.
At around £200 it's quite a lot of money for what it is but once you get to know how to use it it's fairly quick and easy to set up and use and enables good end results. Quality-wise it's reasonably good, the main frame is black anodised aluminium and the slider blocks are a decent quality plastic with metal thumb wheel tightening screws. It all comes in a hand velcro storage bag too. I don't like the bradawl arrangement Trend provide for securing the jig to the door. I've found three 3.5 x 40 screws (top, middle, bottom) provide a much better securing method. Once the door edge is sanded down after removal of the jig the screw holes are much less noticeable too. Overall a good jig, quick and easy to use if a bit expensive.

Works better than the previous model
Better than my previous model. If you are an amateur and no one has ever shown you how to use this tool, you may have a big problem and even damage the frame and drill.

Easy set up, clean cuts, time saver.
I would have a practice with the jig. Buy 3 way clamps for securing the jig to the door, it does help. Have a read of the instructions.....don't skip. Do use the bradles to pin it to door and frame, it does tend to loosen the fittings sometimes. So check constantly. Easy to use, gives you nice clean cuts for your hinges. Change the top edge shim to a 2mm one if you are fussy with the head gap, if already painted door frame. Router guide included, 16mm. You will need a long shaft 12mm, 1/4" router bit. Cuts slots nicely, trend corner chisel helps speed up process. Oh, make sure you have the right router screws for your baseplate guide. Dewalt are different to the ones they supply with. Happy door hanging. Time saver.

Got a lot of flack for getting this from people my age and older but when time is money, this is a huge saver, especially price work. Easy to set up and once done can chop out multiple doors and jambs. Pair this up with a decent door mortiser and you’re good to go.

Mine came with an bushing adapter for US routers. Double and triple checking offsets, especially for odd ball size hinges and trying out a on test piece is highly recommended. Make sure the locking thumb adjuster/spreaders are engaging the internal rails correctly. This tool worked awesome on a totally incorrect installation by previous owner that I had to repair with epoxied in dutchmans. I used this router base for my compact router: DEWALT Plunge Base for Compact Router (DNP612)

The jig is not big enough to work on Australian steel frame doors. The gap between the hinges on steel frame doors is 1480mm and this jig will only go to about 1420mm. I contacted Trend in the UK and after a few photos and measurements, they agreed that it would not work and advised me to return it.

If you are a professional and install multiple doors, this product will definitely speed up your work and give you professional results. Pricey, but definitely worth the investment.

I bought this as I decided I wanted to start to hang my own doors. Just did 14 doors in a job, lighting fast super accurate after you’ve got it all set up. Very satisfying to use and I this is an easy recommendation

For our new home I made 22 doors and this jig was a life savor. While i am not a huge fan of the holes created by putting the jig in place I have not noticed them once since moving in. Other than that it took no more than 3 minutes a door to mortise and place the hinges after a brief learning period. Another 3 minutes for the frame and the doors were good to go (I made all my frames and mortised them before assembly and placement - the way to go in my opinion). Make sure you buy hinges with the correct corner radius or square them up for square hinges.
