Very easy to use!
It does exactly what it says on the tin! A very quick reference for the supermarket (basically high low medium) and then further info if you want it on opposite page. I don’t want to read 6 pages before I know the GI of a food as some guides make you do. I just love it! Pocket size too.

Lots of important information in pocket guide
My only criticism is that the book tells you how to calculate the GL ratings of foods by multiplying the GI of a food by the amount of carbohydrates in a typical serving and dividing by 100 , but there are NO GI figures to use , only L M & H , thus as far as I can see the calculations are impossible using this book ! To me these figures are very important as one that has recently reversed my diabetes in just 3 months ! and want to maintain this good progress . Have I missed something ?

Easy to understand.
Set out really well and easy to understand. Good colour photos to accompany. A nice little book particularly helpful if starting out or interested in low G.I foods (as I am). Not sure how compares to books that are specifically about foods and carb counting (eg. Carbs & Calories book) eg if diabetic or prediabetic but clearly there is similarity and both suitable I'm sure if you are carb counting only to lose weight

Useful information for those who wish to follow a low GI diet.

Useful and easy to use
Linked to the 'fast diet' this has proved to be very useful in calculating calories and 'G.I. load' to decide what to eat each meal, on both 'fast' and 'feed' days. Using the given number of calories in a 'usual portion' size, I have calculated the calories per gram. (divide calories by number of grams) and written this figure in the space available. Now I can weigh an item and quickly calculate how many calories it contains. Have lost 5 lbs in 4 weeks and by carefully choosing which foods to eat, I haven't felt hungry.

Sent and packaged correctly (5 stars). However, the title is, to me at least, rather misleading - I expected a detailed GI & GL count, (not just a Low, Medium, High rating) as I am doing a low carb diet. And do I deduct fiber from carbs? The book’s size is handy

Beaucoup de livres sur ce sujet ne parlent pas des aliments simples mais de marques et de plats cuisinés industriels. Ici on trouve l'index glycémique des aliments de base et juste à coté la charge glycémique ( pas l'effet théorique de l'aliment mais l'effet d'une portion habituelle sur notre glycémie) La charge est donnée en 3 catégories: basse, moyenne, haute et rend plusieurs aliments qui ont une indice haute quand-même acceptables à manger. Attention c'est en petit format... mais trouve la place pour fournir des tas d'autres renseignements aussi: calories, analyse etc. Les premières pages expliquent tout cela d'une façon très claire..............mais en anglais. Que 4 étoiles parce qu-il y a des aliments français qui manquent.
