Ideal upgrade for passive and active pick-ups alike.
My G1X on FX pedal produced a lot of fuzz with some of my various piezoelectric pick-ups, and would just 'lose the thread' and signal. Introducing a pre-amp has resolved both issues. In addition to the Fishman Platinum foot pedal model, I purchased this stage friendlier version to give me more set up options. With every combination of instrument and pick-up, including electric kazoo, and through to the dedicated bass mode (wow), no squeaks or feedback, and on battery power, no hum. Not tried it running off mains. These are subtle devices, with limited controls, that bring acoustics to life. You can do what you like with the output, if like me, you want to explore FX and less natural sounds. Having seen reviews of cheaper pre-amps, and their respective compromises and issues, the Fishman Platinums has provided a solid solution for stage, studio or personal pleasure across all my instruments. The Stage, at around half the price of the foot version, was a steal, with no discernable limitations in sound, and a very convenient belt clip. For my needs and budget, this is ideal. I'm not going to outgrow it any time soon.

Excellent little Pre-amp, which can be used with both acoustic guitars and basses (electric and acoustic)
I originally bought this item, to control the feedback and improve the sound from the piezo pickups I had fitted to my double bass. I must admit, I haven't actually used it for that purpose yet (hope to shortly) but instead, have used it as an easy to carry pre-amp for my electric basses. As I was connecting directly to the band PA, I had no need to for an amplifier and instead just took an XLR connection from this pedal straight to the PA. The tones I was able to dial up with this device were very impressive, certainly adequate for the Rock and Roll I was playing. But it is not just a Bass device, it is designed to work with Acoustic Guitars and I will be trying that out shortly too. I have been very impressed with this device (its not really a pedal) and it will be remaining somewhere in my chain for the foreseeable future.

The one pedal to bring them all together ....
My most recent pedal, this has transformed my sound - adding depth and clarity to nylon and steel string acoustic tone when used with my Roland AC 60 amp. The phase switch has proved useful as has the adjustable mid range and the notch filter and the tuner and volume boost. They really have thought of everything.... Then, out of curiosity, I used it on my pedal board with my hollow body Epiphone with P 90’s through a valve amp and was amazed at how it allowed me to get more midrange grit or low end warmth or top end bite. I wish I had picked one of these years ago and would recommend this as the FIRST pedal an acoustic or electric guitarist should investigate...if only Fishman did time machines (!)

Quality
Top quality pre amp and DI. Loads of EQ options, effects loop, built-in tuner, boost and compressor. Hard to find anything to grumble about great bit of kit which I would recommend

cool gadget, mine seems to be pre-used.
the price here is very good, about £50 cheaper than everyone else, but it doesn’t say anywhere that its pre-used or ex-display, which probably explains the price difference. mine was well packaged but still looked like someone had payed football with it, and when I opened it the back was very scratched-up, the front had a small chip and it had a battery in it ( specifically says it isn’t supplied with a battery im the instructions, so this was a bit of a give away ). However, it works absolutely fine and arrived a lot quicker than the estimate. I’m using it with a PRS Hollowbody II piezo, and it seems to work pretty well. I plugged the guitar straight into the acoustic-in on the amp and it sounded pretty good, so i was a bit concerned it wouldn’t make much difference. I was wrong. The difference, even in my horrendously amateur hands, is extremely noticeable. Great gadget, good price, quick delivery. Would have liked to have been told it was pre-used.

Brilliant
I play live in bands and an acoustic duo and have used a lot of great products and pedals over many years. This is a superb product. Elevated an already great tone from a Faith Legacy with Fishman Blend pick up. Using a Soundcraft / QSC PA it manages to get an almost ‘recorded’ acoustic sound in a live environment. Easy to set up and use. The DI out is excellent The boost works well for emphasis and the effects loop really opens up the options. If it had a metal body I’d give it six stars.

Yes, it makes a difference
I play acoustic guitar in a band with full drum kit, bass and electric guitar. The louder I had to turn up my acoustic guitar the more it starter to sound harsh. This Fishman PRO-PLT-201 Platinum Pro Eq has made a big difference in getting rid of those bad frequencies from my guitar. All the different settings play their part and the tuner, boost button and compression are really useful. I've done 3 full gigs just using a battery and the battery is still ok. It lights up when you have 1 hour charge left and it hasn't lit up yet. Very happy with this DI box

This is a great product I had an LR Baggs Para Acoustic and replaced it with the Fishman. I play banjo and Mandolin and neither have built in pre amps so this does the job . The Boost button is a great addition too.Only problem is it is too bulky to clip on to your jeans or Guitar strap so it goes on my pedal board. If your instrument is too quiet and you want a boost with great EQ buy this .

Investing in the Platinum Pro EQ DI Pedal is a worthwhile decision, especially considering its long-standing reputation. If your budget allows for this purchase, I highly encourage you to go for it!
