Review: Yes this really can help you quit! - Brilliant book.. got me off the cigs.. highly recommend this book, it alters the way you think about smoking and nicotine. Review: This book did not help my quit... - I was a 20-30 per day smoker for 11 years and I hated every puff, I also hated that I was willing to go hungry or beg strangers to get a cigarette. What's more not only did smoking make me ill but it was killing me; I suffered a severe chest infection that nearly killed me at 20, and I suffered multiple strokes in my teens as a result of being both a smoker and taking hormonal birth control pills. In my time trying to quit smoking I had tried every tip and trick to cut down or quit cold-turkey, I had tried nicotine replacement therapy, e-cigarettes, support groups, drugs like Zyban, but nothing worked more than three months...and those three months were a constant battle not to buy a pack of cigarettes, depriving myself of something I didn't even want, eating like a pig to keep my mouth busy, sleeping-in to avoid hour of torment without a smoke, and snapping at everyone. I came across Easyway on a forum amongst a sea of positive reviews, I immediately thought 'this is going to be the magic ticket!' and bought a new copy of the book straight away. I got the book within a few days, initially I tried to put off reading the book - I'm not a huge reader, and I guess I was scared of giving-up smoking - I would read a few pages then decide I was bored, or I'd find myself sitting arguing with the book...sure I knew smoking was bad but it calmed me down, I need it to socialise, to break the boredom at work, to take a break between drinks on a night out, to use as a means of self-defense when walking alone at night...it took me a few weeks to finish the book. I agreed with everything that the book said and so I stopped smoking... I managed three months before I broke-down and asked a work colleague for a cigarette, it had been a little easier than on previous attempts to quit, but it was still me trying to use willpower to fight the addiction - I wasn't using the method correctly! I knew the method worked, it made too much sense for it not to work! Over the following year I continued to smoke but at the same time suggested this book to friends; FIVE people quit smoking with this book after I recommended it to them, why not me?! I didn't follow the method correctly, chances are it was because I'm not a big fan of reading and just found myself sitting arguing with the book was why it didn't work for me. I tried re-reading the book and getting a PC disk with software guiding you through the course, I knew was missing something but at the same time I knew I was on the right track! I signed up for an Easyway Clinic, it was expensive however it was about the cost of two months worth of cigarettes and they offered a full money back guarantee so I had nothing to lose. The clinic took two hours, they went through exactly what they did in the book and I was able to argue back with the advisor...the thing is he didn't say anything I didn't already know myself, I felt like he hadn't really given me anything new at all. During the whole clinic you were still allowed to smoke, we had regular cigarette breaks and we happily chain-smoked every 30 minutes. At the end of the clinic we were asked to throw our cigarettes into a bin bag, I did so knowing fine well that I was just going to buy more on my way home... ...I never bought another pack of cigarettes. I've been a non-smoker for 7 years now and I have never once wanted to smoke again; no cravings, no withdrawal, no moodiness, no depriving myself, no struggle with willpower or replacing cigarettes with food or some other distraction for my mouth or hands. It's not that I'm an ex-smoker either, it's like I was never a smoker to begin with. I look at people smoking and I am completely baffled by it, I just can't get my head around the idea of lighting up a cigarette and putting it in my mouth to suck on. The whole idea of smoking seems so foreign to me now, I just can't remember how to smoke or why I'd even want to. It drives me insane seeing smokers going through hell trying to quit with willpower methods, when I know this method is so easy! Not meaning to break any illusions here, but Easyway works by tackling the mental addiction - if you don't want to quit and if you don't follow this method then it won't work. I can assure you those who give this book a bad review have found it hasn't worked because they haven't followed the method, I see them saying; it's just saying what you know already, it just keeps repeating the same thing, it just keeps talking about the method but never explains the method, smoking is a chemical addiction so this book won't help you - trust me when I say these people have missed the entire point of the book. I can honestly say this book saved my life, and gave me back my freedom, I really can't express how much I appreciate and love Allen Carr for what he has done. I'll even let you in on a secret, when I have spare cash I buy copies of this book and leave it in doctors offices. PLEASE I beg you buy this book, or even try the clinic. THIS METHOD WORKS.

Worked for me. 8 years now.
Bought in 2017. Gave up smoking after 40 years. Never smoked again. The fact he was a smoker addicted to cigarettes gave him an insight into my need to quit versus my need for a ciggie. I read it over 3 days, did little else for the weekend. He had a mantra for the days after I quit. Made such a difference. Best decision I ever made.

A much neede re-framing
I almost dropped this. Hated how almost egotistical the first chapters were without getting to any meat. However, the method described - at least for me, is incredibly effective and has totally changed my mind on smoking. Every aspect of it. It's a re-framing of the whole smoking problem that makes you see smoking in a brand new light. And yes, I imagine if our government used the same sort of message/tactics - then I daresay there would be less smokers in the UK.

Cut out the EZWAY nonsense
Funny and insightful and very well read by the voice actor. I am currently listening to it in audiobook form whilst in the middle of a house move; after having vaped with maximum strength 'e-liquid' for about a year. I'm finding this a useful to help quit, but I'll be honest, I'm quite worried at the moment about the amount of nicotine products being pushed as 'new, wellness, healthcare, lifestyle' kind of nonsense. I definitely bought into it when my mental health was low. You need to be careful with these products, vaping and nicotine patches etc are still 'big pharma' although they are being advertised as wellness products in stores. Get specialist help when you want to quit properly. Cut that sh*t out and add something useful about vaping and maybe cannabis use to your book and it will take off again. Cut out the EZWAY cr*p. It is psychological jargon that is patronising and demeaning to people's intelligence... My local pharmacy offers a free supported quitting program, I'll say it again. Stop pushing this ezway cr*p in your book, it puts readers off and stops them recommending it to people. And, it is clearly trying to pander to the US audience and the massive wellness drive there. Vaping is initially a seemingly innocuous product the way it is designed is completely exploitative. Please include a chapter on that instead of rewriting it to sell your ezway techniques to the US market. The people in the US are actually very intelligent and you don't need to pander like a populist to a tiny minority who are not. If we pander to populists, guess what, we get Trump. That is my only criticism of the the book, it is clearly selling itself as a wellness self-help book with 'the ez way to quit smoking' nonsense. So, apologies for the rant, as you can probably tell I am still in the process of quitting myself 😂 But honestly, YouTube 'vaping' and you will see how nicotine is still being sold as a safe lifestyle thing. This is the exact same playbook as the nicotine industry has desperately been trying for every generation. When I was young it was little candy sticks that look like cigarettes in sweet shops. Guess what tastes like candy? Book still deserves 5 stars though, clearly well researched and very well read. Much love, An angry Scottish person giving up vaping.

Older versions are much better, find something from at least 10 years ago
Highly recommend but have to say the earlier versions are significantly better. These updated copies are missing important things particularly the famous chapter 26. Definitely lost some of the charm of the earlier versions. You can tell the passion of Allen Carr is no longer around.

I can’t believe how easy it was to stop. While reading the first few chapters I got scared because I thought that, for some reason, this method wouldn’t work on me; fast forward to few hours later, I hadn’t even reached half of the book that I extinguished my last cigarette, and haven’t smoked since, nor I have had any cravings whatsoever! It’s so mind blowing to me that an addiction that ruined my mood, lungs and wallet for 2 years was gone basically in the blink of an eye. I can’t recommend this book enough, so if you or a loved one do smoke, do yourselves a favor and buy it.

I am an active Amazon customer purchasing products online for more than 10+ years. I have given ratings for many products, but never gave a comment for a product / purchase. This is my very first time comment. Until last week, I was a confirmed smoker for 33 years. I have made numerous attempts to stop in the last 13 years. Like others, I also had the same doubt about how can a BOOK make me stop stopping. At the same time, not just one, but many people commented that it worked like a magic. So I decided to give it a try. I purchased the book in Amazon 3 weeks ago. In the fast paced busy environment at work, it took 2 weeks for me to complete the book. Mr. Allen Carr (Genius) knows exactly about a smoker, who is dying inside mentally to get rid of it. I strongly believe that, Mr. Allen Carr is injecting some message directly to the subconscious mind. I really don’t know what happened, it’s been a week since I stopped smoking. It is so MAGICAL. I was still on my busy hectic schedule with back to back meeting last week (10 hours work / day), but didn’t even smoked one cigarette. There was a very minor irritation on the 3rd day, but not to the level of conveniencing me to light up. I never lived more than 3 days without a cigarette in the last 33 years. Even those 3 days with very high withdrawal mental pain. I couldn’t believe it is happening. It is been a week. I do not have withdrawal pain. Feeling very happy, proud and level of confidence I never ever had in my life. @Allen Carr - Be blessed by divine. This is the most valuable gift one can give.

Personally, i will finish thus : THANK YOU SIR CARR, FOR YOU CHANGED MY LIFE IN JUST ONE READING. RIP. Ps. i had stopped smoking even before the last chapter, so i did not "smoke the last one" as he asks us to ahahah, my last one went by without even knowing it, what a treat to read !!!

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but this book is an absolute game-changer. After smoking for nearly 9 years and struggling to quit for the past year and a half, I finally found something that worked. Not only did I quit smoking, but I also overcame my addiction to alcohol, cannabis, and other stimulants. Thanks to this book, I’ve been completely substance-free for almost 4 months—and the best part? I haven’t experienced any cravings or felt like I’ve given anything up. What makes this book so powerful is its ability to shift your mindset. It simplifies what society often portrays as an impossible or extremely difficult task. The author provides a clear, logical approach that makes quitting feel natural and achievable. It’s not about willpower or deprivation; it’s about changing the way you think about addiction. I was skeptical at first, but I figured it was worth a try, especially since the method is practically free. Now, I can confidently say this book changed my life. It worked for me, and it worked for the friend who recommended it to me. If you’re struggling with addiction, I can’t recommend this book enough. Read it from beginning to end, commit to its principles, and give it a real chance. It might just change your life, too. **READ IT. READ IT NOW.**
