Potato Mash, Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Cooks in 1 Minute, Pantry Food, Cheddar Cheese Bulk Pack of 12

As a child I remember Smash, which to be honest, wasn't very nice at all so I wasn't expecting much from this product at all. How wrong I was, its absolutely lovely, so quick to make and to be honest very hard to tell the difference between this and 'real' mash. I have all the flavours except for garlic. Makes enough for 3 people, so plenty for us and any leftovers warm up well or can be repurposed for making fishcakes etc, buy it you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good it tastes and the texture.

This tastes just like Smash used to taste when I was a little girl! These days, I think Smash is a poor version of what it once was, as it hasn't tasted so good for a number of years (and it always ends up lumpy when I make it). These Idahoan instant mashed potatoes really brought back memories of how Smash once tasted though. It has a wonderful full flavour, a creaminess, and the cheese is neither fake tasting nor overpowering. I didn't find it too runny when made up with the full stated amount of water either (some reviewers said they wanted less water than the amount stated). I've also had no issues making lump-free mash. It would appear that you need some very good skills to make this lumpy. To be honest, it's a very good price for what I think is the best instant potato out there. The only catch is that it apparently serves 3 people, but really I don't think it's three decent portions. For two adults (especially if one's a fella), it's two generous portions but you would have to be a bit mean to stretch it out further. Plan on making up to two packets worth for a family of four with good appetites, I think.

Taste and texture is far better than any other I have tried and when mixed and seaoned to individual taste it looks and tastes as near to mashed potato made from scratch as I have tried. The price can be high but I buy when on offer

Easy to make. Really good product. I use it a lot. When I have used it for visitors they are surprised it comes out of a packet as it's so good. Could be a bit more cheesy in flavour.

So.. it's mash and you can't say too much about it right? ... it tastes like decent quality mash far better than some cheaper instant mash potato... i'd rather this over most i'd buy otherwise.. and provided you can get the price right these packets currently seem to be retailing for around £1 per packet, and amazon is doing deals which put it in that sort of range and for the quality and price, their well worth it ... some of the more exotic (and even nicer) flavours are selling on amazon for far more - and sadly, the extra 60-70p will always make me go to the supermarket over the convenience (as their almost 2x supermarket pricing) even though they are VERY nice (especially the garlic one) ... All in all .. if you see these at around £1/pack (Mar 2023) their very much worth the purchase and you'll not regret the taste.

Easy to make and tastes great

Idahoan are the best instant potatoes I've ever tried! Used them for years, as mash and as cottage pie toppers, as good as doing the job properly but rather quicker and less messy.
