Konami Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection (Import)

How can you not give this 5 stars? You get 10 games (including VR missions and extra games etc): - Metal Gear (the first one , 1986) - Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake - Metal Gear Solid (the most renowned one, released on PS1, you have to make a USA account and download it but don't worry you can use it on other accounts too) - Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons Of Liberty, inc. VR missions - Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater - Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of Patriots - Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker - And two other minigames All of this, available on two disks, for only £20. This is a crazy deal with so much value. Definitely buy this instead of the MGS Collection which only has MGS 2, MGS3 & MGS Peace Walker, about the same price. It wouldn't make sense if you bought the collection really. Delivery was great, no complications and arrived a day later. There are two discs. This is probably because MGS4 needs to have its own disk as it was a huge game and all the other games, with the exception of Metal Gear Solid 1 and MGS 1 VR missions are available for download with a USA account. Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 are located in the MGS 3 main menu. For those wondering the Dualshock 4 controller (DS4) is NOT compatible with MGS2 Sons of Liberty and MGS3 Snake eater, not sure about Peace Walker. Games that are compatible with the DS4 are Metal Gear Solid 1, Metal Gear Solid 4 and perhaps MGS Peace Walker. Edit 2022: I believe it is, I haven't played it in a couple of years but I think this was one of the few games that worked with DS4 so that was a nice bonus. To conclude, Metal Gear has always been the best video game series ever (for me anyways), and this is perfect. Occasionally, I will replay a certain MGS game; often when feeling nostalgic I will turn on the PS3 to play the collection. I remember buying the PS3 (again) at the time mainly because of this collection - I just wanted to play and re-experience the older MGS games again after selling my PS3 back in 2014 when I got a PS4. Anyway, this game series means a lot to me and I feel like it affected the young me playing this when I was just a kid. I remember playing MGS2 when I was around 8 years old on the PS2 - didn't understand most concepts but going back and playing MGS2 for the 12th time, I realise things I couldn't have before and understand the complicated Kojima-esque plot better. Edit 2: Currently trying to get MGS2 platinum - it's a pain! Edit 3: Got the platinum for MGS2 & MGS3. MGS2 took me a while about 40-50 hours, MGS3 was done in one playthrough, easy. I'd love to get the platinum for MGS4, one of my favourites... perhaps one day.

Arrived brand new and very quickly, and it's everything you could possibly want from a Metal Gear collection. A lot of other reviews have pointed out that you'll need a US PSN account to download the codes, and I'd like to confirm that these codes still work as of November 2021. For a very fair price you get everything released as of 2010 with the exceptions of Ghost Babel, Portable Ops and the Ac!d games, the entire Metal Gear story. I've played the HD collection on Xbox 360 and noticed a couple of strange graphical issues that the PS3 version has, and it's mainly texture/lighting glitches in MGS2 and MGS3, none of these are serious and they don't even come close to breaking the game or breaking the immersion, it's just something strange I didn't know about, I think it's also worth mentioning that the Xbox versions have slightly better controls, but that's subjective. In all, I'd happily pay double the price I did and I'd still be satisfied, this is the greatest collection of games you could buy, it's absolutely worth your money.

I'm very happy with this collection. I had MGS hd collection in the past but sold it and always regretting doing so. This collection is even better. I didn't have to worry about the MGS1 download as I had already bought the download years ago in a PSN sale for €5. The only thing odd I noticed was the disc's are a little thinner than normal. This collection was manufactured in the USA so maybe that's normal there. I think it's one of the best games collection of all time. Well worth owning.

Love the Metal Gear franchise, So when I saw this Legacy Collection I had to have it. Thought I’d start at the beginning. Not all of the games are on disc, some are digital downloads but the codes work. This may be because it’s an American code (legacy never got a EU release). So if you don’t have a US PSN account set one up, download and the switch back to your usual profile and enjoy.

Are you a fan of the Metal Gear (Solid) series and don't have at least one of the games included? Have you never played them before? If you answered yes, buy this. You get some of the best games of their generations, many of them reworked in HD. As some people said, you'll need an US PSN account for MGS1 but that's easy to make. There is even a piece of paper inside the package with instructions on how to do this! How can I not be happy. Excellent package. Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater are both upscaled to HD and it's a fantastic conversion. Guns of the Patriots is the same as the base version except with one MAJOR upgrade. There is no need to install the chapters like before which is really good. A tad disappointed that MGS is a download but I won't lose any sleep over it. Trophy support too but Guns of the Patriots looks like suicide for the platinum. Very happy.

I'm thrilled that you can still buy sealed copies of this masterpiece. MGS 1 and VR missions come on DLC codes so you need a sealed copy to guarantee they haven't been used. You need to set up a US account to download the DLC codes though. It's annoying but manageable. I was almost pulling my hair out with it all at first as it wouldn't accept my details but I worked it out eventually.

Product didnt work originally neither will code i live in UK now i tried it again the CDs work but the DLC will not il just keep it thank you.
