If you had to buy just one title on the subject this is the one. It covers many different techniques and procedures with each one being shown with examples. It also covers the specific details of technical things like plug ins, applications and web based tools. It really is a very good resource.. Be sure to check that you're ordering the latest version as Michael Brazell releases updated versions under the same title as tools and techniques move very quickly in this area of research as you would expect.

Brilliant book for anybody want to know more about OSINT. I'd been waiting for this edition for ages - and was so pleased when it finally came out. Sadly much of it relating to Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. is now out of date - although the principles still stand. However that's the way things are with OSINT research and you develop work-rounds. Michael Bazzell is still a top guru for the topic!

This book is amazing. There are those who think they're good at OSInt, and then there are those people who are entirely world-class. This volume is clearly written by someone in the latter category. I work as a professional security consultant, and the amount of useful information in this book is too great to list. This is, in my view, another "must-have" book for infosec professionals

Great book for a starter in OSINT, well explained and easy to read even for non tech people. Might need a revise/new edition soon. I would had more tools to the stack.

Fantastic pragmatic book. No abstract discussions on OSINT; No convoluted big-picture conversation on intelligence. Purely a handbook of techniques, links, and methodology of OSINT work. The provided links alone are incredibly handy, not to mention the breakdown and workflows.

My number 1 book when it comes to online research tools. Mr. Bazzell book is an easy read however do not expect to read it in 1 day. Also I recommend other books written by Mr. Bazzell, you are not going to be disappointed.

As a newbie to OSINT, I found this book an eye opener for vulnerability of private and personal "privacy" due to the Internet of things. Probably the best book on the market on the subject of OSINT. I can unreservedly recommend this book.

If you are in computer/software related field then it not worth to buy. You can already guess of most of techniques.

As a genealogist who works with our county coroner in finding next of kin for unclaimed persons, this book is my number one 'go to'. It has helped bring closure and peace to families of missing persons. I have recommended this book to everyone I know. In a single book, the number of sources is vast and his explanations of how to use the sites are perfect for even those who are not tech savvy. I have been doing genealogy for years and know a lot of resources but Michael's book has gems that no one in my genealogy society had ever heard of. I used his book in preparing to give a class for genealogists for finding living persons. To prepare, I used his sites and inserted the name of an old friend with an unusual name to see what I would get. It was amazing. Often, techy books are outdated by the time they are printed. Not so here. Every resource gave valuable hits. The amount of information "out there" on all of us is disturbingly vast. Mr. Bazzell knows and is helping the rest of us know too. Thanks for a great resource!
