Kitty Robot is Cool
I needed something that would work for multiple days and could be relied on. This does the trick. Others can be opened easy, don't work well or don't store enough. The batteries are still going some months later. It's no issue to install and set up. The interface is certainly a fiddle but I did it and I'm no genius. The one thing I wish was that it had the option of a dual-bowl. I use it for two cats and the bowl supplied was too deep for two heads to be comfortable (easily removed). Now I let it dispense onto a mat which I clean. Although they get two meals a day from this (you can set however many), it's wise also to give wet food too. I found the "soft and chewy" kibble best. It fits, it's not too dry and it works. They can't knock it over or open the lid. One of the cats can sometimes get a few by shoving a paw up the spout--- it's quite awesome, so I let him. Would be nice if it looked a bit smarter I guess- but the black suits most places. They run to the noise now on feeding time. Shame it didn't know the date and ignored the clocks going back!!!

It is the Best!!
It is the Best!!!! Back Story: My cat is a 8 year old hungry monster and was way overweight when I bought her from the cat home (she could eat until she puked and then eat some more). Now she is sliming down and does not nag about food as she knows she can't nag a machine to feed her more often. When I am away in the afternoon or late at night I feel calm as I know she will be fed on time every day. No need to rush home to feed her and quickly after rush out to hurry to the cinema/ dinner out / friends house. Even when we are just lounging at home it is nice to not have to think about it and not have a cat that will meow everytime you enter the kitchen just so she will be feed because it was suuuuuuuch a long time ago. My cat was so fat that she meowed when jumping down from things as it hurt her, I am so super happy to see that she is getting so much healthier, jumping more and not meowing while doing it. Tips: It was no biggie to set up if you read the instructions first (otherwise just take out the batteries to start over if you find yourself trapped). I have a little bit smaller then normal, female cat (except for her still very round stomach) and I am giving her high quality pet store food, so I set her up on 29ml (1/8 cup) 3 times a day (every 8 hours). I also give her some (good for teeth) treats when she does something good (she has learned sit!). So in total about 1dl (little less then 1/2 cup) dry food. This is correct for her according to both the cat home and cat store (where I buy her food). I only feed her dry food and some softer cat treats. I tried several wet cat food kinds, but it has given her stomach ache/diarrhea. According to the cat store wet food is not needed as long she has access to water with the dry food, so all is good. Hard to break into to... she has not succeeded yet. For more tips I checked out this product's reviews on the Amazon US site. All in all, an awesome product that works as it said it would.

Seems to be the best one out there
I researched pretty thoroughly before making this purchase and although I haven't actually used any of the others, my guess is that this product is probably best in class. It isn't perfect, anything with this many variables is not going to be 100% reliable. Bottom line, would I trust this thing to feed my cat (who I'm very, very fond of) while I go away for a long weekend? Yes I would. Construction The product is of sturdy and deliberate construction. I've only had it a month but I expect it will last a good amount of time. The actual moving parts, an "agitator" that stirs the cast biscuits and pushes then onto the conveyor belt and the conveyor itself have been kept as simple as possible but ultimately these are the weak points of the design, especially the agitator, which can jam if not cared for properly. This happened to me, after the first bag of food I'd put into the machine ran out, somehow the agitator got jammed as a few biscuits fell down either side of it and no food was dispensed until I realised what had happened. How it happened I'm still not sure but care must be taken I guess, either when refilling, or when the supply gets low. I haven't had any other problems related to the construction. Programmability I'd give the product 5 stars here. There are preprogrammed settings that will dispense food of a certain amount at a certain time, or one can programme it to dispense food of any amount and at as many intervals as one chooses. This is a really good feature and allows one to fine tune the machine as much as desired. Cat proofness My cat has yet to launch an assualt on the machine but I'm guessing it will be robust enough to deter some attackers but not all. It's a pretty good design, hard to knock over and hard to get into (from a feline point of view) but some cats are probably more than a match for it. Portion size It's worth saying a few words about portion size. The machine works by pushing biscuits onto a segmented conveyor belt system, each segment is presumed to have a certain biscuit capacity in millilitres and the user programmes it to dispense a certain number of millilitres per serving. So in theory, all one has to do is work out how many millilitres of biscuits one's cat requires each day (weigh food and then put it in a measuring jug) and then divide this by the number of servings one plans to dispense. This works in theory and sometimes in practice but not always. Quite often, the machine will dispense less food than programmed, simply because less food falls from the hopper onto the conveyor belt than is required to occupy each segment. The best way around this is to to programme the machine to dispense slightly more food than is required, although then the risk is that cat becomes obese, at least if it is anything like mine. The other issue is that if you buy biscuits of a different size you'll need to reprogramme the machine because millilitres does not necessarily correspond with weight. Ease of use This is an old school machine. If you have a logical mind you'll be just fine as the instructions are thorough and coherent but do not expect it to be 'intuitive'. Value It's a bit pricey isn't it? I certainly would have preferred it if the 'optional' power supply had been supplied free of charge but it has so far worked fine with batteries (also not supplied) and these apparently will last a year. Overall Four stars. We'll have to wait for the machine learning Revolution before we have a cat feeder that can check to ensure it has actually dispensed the right number of biscuits, raise the alarm when it has a problem etc. For now I suspect this is the best there is.

Great product , couldn't be happier even if it's expensive.
Item arrived super quick, even though I didn't pay extra for delivery. The unit itself is essentially a big plastic box with a conveyor belt and little buckets that deliver the food and drop it out in set quantities. Programming is fine if you follow the instructions and you must prime the thing each time the hopper runs empty. Went away for four days and the cat was fed twice a day without fail. I now leave the unit on and use it daily as it regulates the exact amount and times of feeding. It is expensive for what it is, should come with batteries for the price and time will tell if it is reliable and durable . That said not having a fat moaning cat wake me each morning and the cost saving of not putting the cat in a cat home when away on holiday I am totally satisfied. As the food drops onto the metal dish it makes quite a noise and the cat has learnt this means food, initially she was scared of it.

I read tons of reviews. But didnt want to buy 3 devices. Found a 3 way splitter (mentioned in other reviews). saved my sanity and made us get this auto dispenser. I'm due with my first in July. I cant free feed my cats because they will get fat (they never used to bother us for food when we free fed them-sigh). They have lost a combined 4 lbs since we started scheduling thier foods & are no longer obese!! But this scheduling came with them bombarding us in the am. Cant have that with the baby coming! So I took a chance on an open box like new with slight scratches. I'm very pleased to say even the open boxed device works! I got it a day or 2 before my splitter and adapter, so I used that time to clean and air dry. Install took maybe 12 minutes? Make sure all items/components are tight, secure, & dry! The programming was prob the most difficult, but its so worth it for the benefits! Now it find it fairly easy! It would be nice if the screen had a blue back light or something so it's easier to see. Think grey screen with black letters; that's what this display is like. When programmed and ready, it shows the buttons are locked and the next time for feeding! I've heard some say they had issues. I did buy the adapter separately. I've since had 2 power outages and all I have to do is set the time and then set to custom (vs the preprogrammed cat or dog) and it remembers the feeding schedule without me having to reschedule the feedings! Very thankful for that lil feature since power outages are very common in the summer here! You will have to force feedings a couple times because the conveyor doesnt have food on it! At first I was like wth! But after doing a couple force feedings, it worked perfectly. TIP: dont use slow feed unless you have larger portions. Since you can schedule up to 12 feedings with 1/8c as your lowest, I just do multiple 1/4c feedings. The smaller amounts just take way too long to dispense on slow feed! We use blue buffalo cat kibbles and have no issues with jamming. It took about 2 months for my cats to correlate the feeder with feeding rather than us making it magically happen. They have now completely stopped tormenting me in the mornings for food! I give them wet food at night so it's just for morning breakfast and afternoon snack! I will say we have messes because I cant secure the bowls and the cats drag the bowls, but honestly the cats love the hunt... they go nuts. Make sure to read the cleaning recommendations! Def dont want to ruin your new life saver! My cats are brutes! They even tried to bite the lid off. They haven't been able to open it no matter how hard they try. I do see that some say it could be tipped over. Ours is on the floor. They would have to use some serious skill to knock it over with full food for sure. Since I have the splitter, my cats cant stick their paws up for treats. The only negative I have is that now my cats associate the sound to cereal pouring into a bowl, and they run in all excited and confused lmao
