Boy Scout Compass - Lightweight, Adjustable, Liquid Filled - for Navigation, Orienteering and Survival

Easy to use, it doesn`t need a manual, red arrow points north, it`s common sense. It's also shown on the compass itself. I also like the addition of the little magnifying glass.

I was a little skeptical about this compass being fluid filled. I was not surprised to find that it was NOT fluid filled. However, it does the job I purchased it for, it is easy to read and a reasonable price. I'll try to keep it away from my mobile phone which was how I de-magnetized my last one!

The compass is well constructed and oil damped which makes it easy to use in the field. The lanyard is nice and allows you to pop the compass in the top shirt pocket. Very pleased with this product.

My husband, who knows about these things, says this. O pass is perfect and just what we need to navigate our way up Ben Nevis. I say the company really make you feel special! If I need anything else I will definitely be buying from them again.

I rather thought there was some "how to use" instructions with this but not hence from my point of view not much good to me at present. May be one is supposed to know how to use it but there is the basic question of which needle red or black is the main needle that tells you north? The is fading around the numbers and east direction. So o.k. it was not expensive But!

Easy to use, compact and clear to read. I am not much of a traveller and not the greatest at correct orientation but like to know my north from south and east from west. This is perfect for me.

Looking through other reviews of this product, I see that many are happy with it. It may be that mostly theses compasses are okay, however mine is not. I suspect there is too much friction in the pivot-bearing, evidenced by sticking of the needle when rotating the base. I found it requires multiple readings to be taken to arrive at an "average" bearing that can be used with any confidence - and we are talking about variations in the range of 5-10 degrees at times. Laying it down on anything other than a perfectly horizontal surface will result in increasing likelihood of the needle sticking, making it hard work to use in hilly terrain. One star because at least the base plate has some useful features not always present on other units.

Still trying to work this out, I have completely no Denver if direction. And needed this to assist when working where clients gardens are facing...hence given it three stars

La règle est bien équipée avec les échelles usuelles, un carré de report de point, les reports d'angle pour contournement d'obstacle et les symboles pour tracer sur la carte le départ, l'arrivée et les balises du parcours. L'affichage de l'angle est facile ainsi que la visée d'alignement. Cependant, elle n'est graduée qu'en degrés, ce qui limite son utilité pour les militaires.

Da der Kompass ein Geschenk war, kann ich nur sagen, dass er genau wie erwartet war. Sieht sehr gut aus, die Nadel pendelt sich schnell und anscheinend genau ein. Die Verarbeitung ist gut, der Kompass ist stabil. Die Lupe und die verschiedene Messhilfen an den Seiten werden sicher sehr hilfreich sein. Ein gutes Produkt, das ich gerne weiterempfehlen kann.

I don't know if all their compasses are like this, but mine was definitely faulty. Had you used this in the wilderness, you wouldn't find home. I was in touch with the supplier and once I politely stated my Amazon rights of being able to be reimbursed for the postage to send it back to them for a refund, they obliged and I was refunded. They said I didn't need to return item. I will throw this one away. The seller was always polite and answered swiftly.
