Thumbs Up UK Book Safe, English Dictionary Style

I love this secret safe! It blends in so well with the rest of the books on the shelf! At first, I thought it would be obvious to anyone that it's not a real book but once it was among the other reference books, there's no telling! It's handy to have somewhere for cash savings without everyone else in the house knowing where to find it! It's quite fun to use as it makes you feel like you're in an old spy movie with your hollowed out book!

I am very pleased with the quality of this product. The safe is sturdy and provides a secure and unnoticable hiding place for small items e.g keys, cash, credit cards. The design is fantastic as it looks exactly like a standard dictionary you might see in any home. Place it amongst the rest of your books and feel secure in the knowledge that your valuables well hidden. I would definately recommend this to others.

The book safe does its job pretty well. There is plenty of room inside to hide money, credit cards, small documents or other items of value which you don't want to leave lying around. I did find though that it is necessary to leave space around the lock as sometimes the box contents can get in the way preventing the inner lid from closing properly even though the lock engages under the lip of the box. This in turn allows the lid to be lifted slightly and small items could be removed. The safe does hide quite well on a shelf of similar books but it does not stand up to close scrutiny if left on its own as the fake pages are quite obviously plastic. The lock itself is not the cheapest they could have used. It requires a double-bitted key (one with teeth on both sides) and this makes it harder for lock-picking than most cheaper locks. Whilst this item will not stand up to serious attempts to open it - such as with a sledgehammer - it will deter the average snooper quite readily and will keep your minor valuables relatively secure until you find the need to upgrade to a proper safe. So recently I have become a little security concious and have started investing in little things such as this to make me feel that little bit safer. I'd considered getting a proper safe but I thought it might be a little obvious to any would-be burglars where I am storing my valuables. I love reading and have lots of books so I decided this book-safe would be perfect for a few small items with high sentimental value. This book safe is great in a sense that it looks realistic enough to someone who doesn't know it is there and is also boring enough not to attract attention. It arrived quickly and was well packaged without any damage to the box. It comes with two small keys and a fairly decent amount of spoace to store some small sized objects. I placed a few items inside and locked the safe. When locked, it feels secure enough to dissuade the casual person looking to go through your stuff but probably not gonna stop a determined thief. Also, while it does look pretty convincing, it is not a perfect disguise. With the right surroundings though (as shown in my photo), it should be convincing enough. It's also pretty low cost and easy to set up. In all, a good product for the slightly paranoid.

It was okay product when I bought.

It's among the side of my book collection, no one really bats an eyelid at it. Very hard to tell it is a book safe. Comes with 2 keys for a locker type lock and inside the bounded-like book is a black steel box. Reasonably difficult to pry open if needed but its value is how inconspicuous it looks. I give it 5 stars but there is a negative, although the cover appears to be a bounded book and looks very real, the pages section is cheap plastic which does not look that real unless you are more than 2 meters away. Worst case scenario, I can take the steel box out, cut out a real book and stick it in.

Bought for my daughter in college and she loves it. She keeps her money in there, passport and other small valuables and documents. Remember to not keep the keys nearby as it defeats the purpose. Would be less noticable on a bookshelf with other books, but even as a single ‘book’ it offers some protection. Better than nothing.

Briliiant! Does exactly what it says on the tin. The quality of the outer 'book cover' is very good and when looking at it in the bookshelf or on a table it looks very real. The actual safe inside is fairly good quality too; like a typical normal safe you'd buy from argos or whsmith (could be slightly thicker metal, but the current metal does not affect the product's aesthetics or purpose).
