whats the difference between using this versus just extending the plug at the other end with a normal multiplug adapter/extension lead?

I use this Extension Cable because my Charger is inside the wall mounted Ctek Cage, which gives you the extra cable length. On a previous Car I ran a 240v Extension Reel into the Boot and connected with the standard Ctek Lead, the Boot Seal allowed for the thickness of the 240v Flex.

Is this compatible with the cs free charger to connect eyelets to the battery terminal? the only leads with the cs free are croc clips.

Hi there, I am afraid I cannot give you a 100% accurate answer. I don't know what the "cs free charger" is. I bought the CTEK battery charger and wanted the extension cable so that I could reach the car from a wall socket. My CTEK came with both a croc clips cable and an eyelets cable. Both of these short cables use the strangely shaped orange connector to connect the the CTEK. Therefore if you have the CTEK you can use either the eyelets or croc clips cable. I actually got my garage to fit the eyelet cable to the battery (mainly because my car has the battery underneath a cowling in the engine compartment and it is very awkward to get at the battery terminals). The car was being serviced and my garage didn't even charge me to fix the eyelets to the battery and they strapped the strange orange connector plug to some pipework under the car bonnet. It works great and with the extension lead I just raise the bonnet and hook up the CTEK within a couple of minutes. The CTEK has been a life saver for me. My car doesn't get used a great deal and I can now keep the battery topped up all the time (usually I hook up the CTEK about once every 8-9 days. I know that's not a direct answer but if you do own the CTEK charger you can use this extension cable and choose either the croc clips or eyelets cable that comes with the CTEK. Without the CTEK charger and the unique orange connector plug that is fitted on the cable that comes out of the charger then this extension cable would not be compatible (unless you can get the unique orange connector with other chargers but I haven't seen any, I think it's a custom CTEK fitting). is this product waterproof?

I would say its more water resistant when connected rather than waterproof. I have used mine many times over past 5 years outside and its been fine. I cover the connector and keep it off the ground with a small plastic box or plant pot and them cover box with another bigger box. Also means people wont trip over it.

Works well and of a useful length

Provided enough extra cable length to enable me to connect my car battery to my CTEK charger mounted on the wall inside my garage near to the up and over door sufficient for me to also be able to close the garage door with car outside. Useful to have and appears well made like my trusty CTEK charger.

Ctek 2.5mtr extension lead

This Ctek extension is a must if you do not not want to leave your Ctek battery charger under the bonnet when charging or you do not have close access to a mains socket, as the cable supplied with these Ctek chargers is not very long. The extension is well made and has comfort plug push in connections to your Ctek charger cable. Expensive for what it is.

It's an extension for the ctek charger system, it works well enough - rather expensive but heyho these are proprietary connectors you can't buy to make your own longer heavier duty cord with. I wish they offered a longer solution like 5 meters as 2.5m is not all that long when you need to route it safely if charging in public.

Neat addition to regularly using the charger

Has allowed me to fit the charger into a CTEK holder bracket on the wall, making the system neater. Middle connector (nearest charger) does get quite warm, but no problems charging so far.

Good extension cable with weatherproof seals.

Very good extension between the car and charger. The connectors have seals so the cable can be used safely outdoors in all weathers. Only one criticism, the cable is very stiff to store away. It feels like it has single core wires instead of more flexible multi-strand wires.

Should have been included as standard, makes the charger much more easy to use. A little pricey for what it is.
