How can this hold 42 necklaces without tangling them all up? I just got mine and judging also by the picture, it can hold 24 (8 on each row).

I liked this item a lot but the hangers for the necklaces get weighed down with larger necklaces. I agree it is small. The pockets on the reverse side hold necklaces if wrapped. I think the design is good and the quality better than others but in the end I returned it because it did not hold enough adequately
