Love this kettle! Such a charming decorative farm house look, while humidifying the room. We keep this well made piece atop our wood burning stove.

It looks good and works well

Season before using, as with all cast iron products. Doing it twice before using makes it even better. As many other reviews state, this is not really suitable for drinking water. Kettle works as described and definitely makes a difference. Add scents to the water for an even better experience. When our wood stove gets to desired temperature the water in the kettle last about 3 hours before needing a refill. As with all pots/pans, once hot refill only with hot water to avoid warping. Handle on this unit is stays touchable after getting hot but you will need a glove to remove the lid to add water. Unit will get a little rust IF you leave water in it while not in use. Comes out with a good copper pad and a good rubbing. Well worth the money.

Nice woodstove addition. Helps to retain moisture in the room. Not good for using the water for beverages since the inside rusts very quickly.

Works good helped with clearing the warm air in the room. Wood Stove really had to be hot to start boiling.

This tea kettle had some rust on the inside when I got it. But I needed it for humidity on my wood stove, so I kept it. A week later it is very rusted inside, around the lid, and one patch on the outside. There were no instructions that came with the kettle about how to season or protect this thing either. I doubt it will be usable in a year at this rate. Buy a better one!
