I was taught to use bread to remove the oil from the surface of soups, sauces, or stews. These oil absorbing papers soak up the oil and I can put the bread to better use, like garlic bread. Yes, I know it's more expensive than the bread, but I can take a sheet at a time to sop up the oil and it does it without sopping up the soup or sauce. The sheet is almost pure oil and very little else. I like these so much, I bought these 2 more times.

These sheets are a simple, effective, and inexpensive tool that genuinely works to remove excess grease from soups, fried foods, and more. They are a worthwhile addition to any kitchen for health-conscious cooks or anyone who dislikes oily food.

I tried these for the first time. I ordered two sizes but they were both smaller than the large pot I was using. I had to use a few sheets but they actually worked and I could tell the difference in the amount of oil removed from my soup. Much less tedious to use these little gems compared to skimming the surface myself and was more efficient and effective.

Not impressed with it. Doesn't work that great

I bought the oil for filtering soup, but I feel that it is of little use and can only filter part of it.

For years I've used the old chef's trick of floating a slice of bread in soup and stock to remove the excess oil on top, but my KLVEU Kitchen Oil Absorbing Paper for Food Scum does a much better job. This absorbing paper also leaves no residue, which was occasionally a problem when I used bread; these sheets are made of a gauze-like but lint-free paper that holds together well even in hot liquids. These are very easy to use; I just followed the examples on the product page. Oil and scum floating on soups and gravies is unattractive at best and can be unpalatable; I'm delighted that these KLVEU oil absorbing sheets work so well to improve my cooking, and I am happy to recommend them.

This absorbs grease quickly. It is messy to throw away, but that is expected with grease. It is rather expensive for any more than comes in a package. Using a good paper towel such as Bounty would do the same thing for me. More than likely, I will not order it again.
