400LS Leak Sentry Pro Fill Valve , Black

This fill valve works perfectly and was very easy to install. The leak-sentry feature adds great peace of mind, helping prevent silent leaks and wasted water. It fills quickly and quietly, and the quality feels solid and durable. A great upgrade from the standard valves — highly recommend for anyone doing a toilet repair or replacement.

Flo master has a bunch of models but this one, at almost the same price as the basic one, has a brilliant feature! It will alert you if your tank is leaking water and, while you address it (if ever) the most you will lose is one tankful between flushes! This is how it works, when the tank empties, it differentites between a flush and a slow leak. if it's a flush it will refill immediately. if it's a slow leak , it won't refill until you attempt to flush the next time (you'll have to push the lever twice -first time it will refill; 2nd time it will flush- you will have to wait typically under 60 seconds, get it? It works with most standard toilets that have a chain and a flapper (I recently tried to install one at a friend's house and it does not work with the advanced one that have tewo buttons on top to choose between a small flush and a large flush)

Best water valve I’ve seen. Will not refill your tank automatically if your flapper leaks. The handle must be pushed to activate filling.

Stunned !! Yep, I'm stunned that anybody has issues installing or understanding this fill valve. My complete all thumbs neighbor properly installed this valve (as I watched and supervised her) and it has worked perfect since. She was afraid to buy this valve because of the complaints on here. Its not complicated. Its just an extra chain that clips onto the flush lever right where the flapper chain connects. Then you adjust the chain (two links at a time) so that when you flush the toilet, the float drops and the tank filling begins. If your FLAPPER has leaked all night long then your tank will be empty. That's your flapper's fault and not this valve's. Now you know its time to replace the flapper. One reviewer was upset about "waterless flushes". The flushes were waterless because your flapper leaks. Replace the flapper. Stop blaming the valve. I am a landlord to 35 tenants and these fill valves are in every toilet I own because they save water and when a tenant complains of "waterless flushes" I know its time to install a new flapper. Once a new flapper is installed, no more "waterless flushes". Again, its because the FLAPPER emptied the tank all day or night. Its not a sign that the valve is a bad design. Ok, I'm getting too worked up over these reviews. This is the best valve available hands down, no question. You just need to understand its purpose and what its actually doing. It has only one extra moving part over the standard Fluidmaster plus a chain...very simple and ingenious design. Thank you Fluidmaster.

We use Leak Sentries in all of our toilets. Only reason for 4 star rating was the box was pretty beat up. Product was fine though.

The Fluidmaster Leak Sentry float stays at the top, keeping the fill valve closed, unless and until the user intentionally operates the flush handle/ lever, which releases the float lock. This means that a leaky flush valve won't cause the toilet to continue trying to fill the tank. This can save a lot of water/money if your toilet develops a leak while you're out of town on vacation, for example, assuming you don't shut the supply valve off before you leave. The 400LS fills fast and quietly. It has all the adjustments you need to meet code and maximize water savings. It's very reliable and durable. I got about 10 years out of the last one I installed on a personal toilet of mine before it started squealing due to a leak at the height adjustment joint. Amazon's price ($10.79 at time of writing) is a steal!

Our bedroom ceiling showed water damage and we thought it was a leak in the roof. Got worse over time but wasn't the roof turned out the upstairs bathroom tolite had a hair line fracture in bottom of the tank that wasn't noticable. After that i only use Fluidmaster Leak Sentry Pro Fill Valves instead of regular ones in all my toilets even when a friend ask me to replace theirs. I have one in first floor bathroom for many years and now replacing broken second floor with same model just in case anything happens like that again. It was spiriting water out from under the top cap while refilling the tank and i didn't know how long ago it was installed so time for new one. Old one showed it's age after I removed it just wore out. Update: After week replacing upstairs valve the down stairs failed so i ordered another. It was trickling water while refilling the tank and rust stains covered it so it did its job and couldn't remember when first installed it anyway. Short cut after removing old valve just use it to size replacement so hight will be perfect and good to put Teflon tape on threads to stop any leak. Nothing worse than spending extended time from home just to return and find the tolite tank cracked and flooded your home or find a letter from the water authority saying you are using to much water along with a sky high bill. This device is insurance against that happening to you.

After you flush if the tank leaks enough to never fill entirely this will NOT shut off the supply. Once the tank fills and shuts off if there is a leak then it works ok.

Relatively easy install and a plus that I can adjust how much it fills. Instructions for install were helpful. Had it for a few months now & I can already see improvement in my water bill!

I have put these in my unit and my rental units. So far so good. It is nice to know water is not being wasted and my money is no longer literally going down the toilet anymore.

I bought this to replace my worn valve for a dual flush system. It is easy to install and the adjusment is not complicated. I disabled the leak sentry because you don't need this in a dual flush system. I just removed the little moving bracket which is under the float. This new unit fills faster and quieter than my older one and my older one was only 14 month old.
