Lixit Hand Feeding Syringe (35 cc)

I purchased these syringes to administer liquid Rugby Aluminum Hydroxide Gel to one of our dogs who was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. As his phosphorus levels were high it was important to administer the Aluminum Hydroxide after each meal (which works as a phosphorus binder to prevent phosphorus from his food to be absorbed into his blood stream). These syringes worked well for this purpose and allowed us to easily administer the correct ml's of this crucial medication. While it is possible to purchase these syringes in packages of one, I advise against doing so & highly recommend ordering them in multi packs like this one, because after using one of the syringes for a while, even while cleaning them out well after each use, eventually the rubber in the syringe starts to stick as you depress the plunger to administer the medication making it extremely difficult to squirt the liquid down the dogs throat; even if you are fortunate to have your pet like the taste and cooperate. We had one who loved the taste and waited patiently and one who hated it and ran away. It is unfortunately quite normal for this to happen & does not reflect negatively on the manufacturer. Plus these syringes are not always available from your vet and if they are they are apt to be more expensive. I highly recommend this product and was happy to be able to conveniently and easily order them on Amazon.

Great syringe for hand feeding! I have used the syringe to force feed sick cats that won’t eat and this is by far the best syringe I’ve used for that purpose. The tip is big enough that you can easily draw up mushy food like baby food or cat food diluted with water. The syringe is big enough to hold enough food for a feeding. I highly recommend any cat person have one of these as part of a cat care kit in case your cat gets sick and won’t eat which can quickly become an emergency for a cat. Great for rescuers!

These are perfect for giving nutritional support to a sick guinea pig!! The paste of “critical care” is easy to feed! You can suck it up, or pull out plunger and fill…either method works wonderfully! Reusable and a real literal life saver!

This is best feed syringe I've found so far. Loads well, smooth dispense. Best to warm in hot water before giving food or meds. Expands tube, work more smoothly, and pets appreciate warned food. Easy to clean. Just hope it continues to perform, as wear and tear tends to make things stick. Have to use olive oil to get others to slide well.

I bought this syringe feed a sick cat. It almost holds an entire can of food, though I don't fill it all the way because this syringe is really big and it's hard to plunge it if fully with my small hands. I used a little bit of coconut oil on the plunger to make it slide a little smoother...and it's been great so far. Far easier than using several small syringes to feed my cat. UPDATING my review! This lasted 4 uses before the plunger portion of it kept getting stuck. I had about 1/4 can of food in it, when I shot it across the room and onto the walls. When the plunger was stuck and I had to apply more pressure than usual to get the material moving. My cat didn't enjoy getting it all over her either.

These syringes work well for getting pulverized pate into invalid kitties.

works well, although feeding the cat is.. a challenge, but she is a cat, after all. i intend to use my spare for measuring my nutrients for growing my plants. good value considering other syringes were twice the price for the same thing.
